Radioactivity Won't Give You Superpowers…But It Might Help! I asserted as much in my first article on Spider-Man. Radiation and DNA just do not mix well. But there's something I overlooked. Introducing radioactive material into your body can be a good thing when done carefully.
Most spider venoms aren't very dangerous to humans and even those which are, usually aren't fatal. At worst, they're likely to cause painful reactions or tissue death around the site of the bite. They do not, unfortunately, transmit any superpowers or modify your DNA in any way.
So, be warned – don't go in search of a radioactive spider. Even if you did find one, the radioactive materials in their venom wouldn't change you into a Spider-Person. And in searching for the species, you stand the chance of exposing yourself to dangerous, life-threatening amounts of radiation.
