Because of their great endurance, strength, and foraging behavior, wolverines have become a center of folklore. However, its fierce reputation has often been exaggerated. They are known to steal furbearers from traps and to damage cabins but contrary to stories will not attack a larger predator, like a wolf or a bear.

Is the wolverine dangerous? THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE of human beings having been attacked and wounded by free living wolverines. Only a few simulated attacks have been registered by researchers, while handling small cubs around the nest.
The wolverine doesn't eat more than he needs. If he kills a caribou or bear he will spray it with musk and bury it. Later he will come back and finish it.
Instances of predation on lynx by wolverines may occur, even perhaps on adults, but unlike wolf attacks on lynx are extremely rare if they do in fact occur. One study in Sweden found that out of 33 deaths of lynx of a population being observed, one was probably killed by a wolverine.
