Angelina Jolie has revealed the reason why her daughter Vivienne, 5, was cast in her new film Maleficent. The 38-year-old admitted she didn't set out for Vivienne to be an actor. However, Vivienne was the only child actor she could find who wasn't terrified of her in costume.
In Maleficent (2014), the young Aurora was played by Angelina Jolie's daughter Vivienne. The 5-year-old got the part because she was the only child who wasn't terrified of Jolie in her Maleficent makeup. Several other younger children auditioned and wouldn't go near her.
She was offered the chance to play a young Aurora in her mom's 2014 film Maleficent, but she turned it down. "I asked Shiloh about being Aurora, and she laughed in my face," Jolie told Elle. "She said she'd be a horned creature." Her younger sister, Vivienne, took the role instead.

The irony is that Aurora was taken from her mother to protect her from Maleficent, but, to Aurora, Leila is simply the woman who gave birth to her while she refers to Maleficent as her Fairy Godmother.
