However, not only did Filoni's Star Wars Rebels rescue Rex from canon limbo following Clone Wars' original series finale, but it also played with the idea that Rex was the bearded soldier Nik Sant from Return of the Jedi. In fact, Rebels confirmed that Rex was at the Battle of Endor.
The Rebels series finale, which aired on March 5, 2018, confirmed that Rex did fight at the Battle of Endor, but did not go so far as to confirm that Rex and Sant are the same character.
The final of Rebels fueled that theory by stating that Rex did, in fact, fight on Endor. But we haven't actually gotten any confirmation that the person we see on screen on is, in fact, Rex.
He was eventually promoted to the rank of commander and fought in the climactic Battle of Endor, which saw the first death of Emperor Palpatine, the redemption of his former Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, and the destruction of the second Death Star.
Rex leaves Wolffe and Gregor to join the Rebel Alliance and to fight alongside the Ghost crew and Ahsoka against the Empire. In the epilogue of the series finale "Family Reunion - and Farewell", it is revealed that he was promoted to commander again and fought with Hera at the Battle of Endor.
For most of the Clone Wars, the 501st Legion was led by Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, and Clone Captain Rex, who served as their first in command.
Now serving the Empire, the members of the 501st took the designation of stormtrooper, as well as new armor, weapons, and ships. In the years to come, they would fight in a number of pivotal battles and continued to serve under the direct command of Vader, Supreme Commander of the Imperial Military.
While listening to Kanan retell the events of Order 66 to Ezra, Rex reveals to the two that he and his fellow retired soldiers removed their control chips prior to the killings of the Jedi. He was never involved in the betrayal that Kanan holds against him.
The T. rex may have feared a Giganotosaurus because the latter was 39 to 43 feet long, while the largest T. rex was only about 40 feet long. Moreover, Giganotosaurus used its paws to slash at and cut prey, making it a worthy competitor.
Rex was 100 percent loyal to Anakin and was his truest friend out in the field. Anakin had to hide so much of himself from other Jedi, but he could be completely open with Rex, and he knew that Rex would never betray him.
Rex is actually 31 years old, though his biological state is likely closer to at least sixty years, due to the accelerated aging that was genetically installed in all Clone Troopers. Because of their accelerating aging, Clones age twice as faster than regular humans.
Given clones have an accelerated growth rate, it's entirely possible for Rex to be in Return of the Jedi as an older man. Sabine Wren confirmed in Star Wars Rebels that Rex was present at the Battle of Endor, but whether he was seen on-screen in Return of the Jedi remains in canon limbo.
The “Ahsoka” series is expected to be set around the same time as “The Mandalorian” – almost eight years after the events of “Return of the Jedi,” by which time the Rex character will be a chronological age of 44 and a biological age/appearance of a man well into his 80s (Morrison is 62).
Some clones disobeyed the infamous order than decimated the Jedi order, and refused to execute it. SOME of these Clones include; Captain Rex: Captain Rex, as most know removed his chip that would later be the way that Palpatine would execute order 66. Wolffe: As with Captain Rex Wolffe removed his bio chip.
Endor was providing the Death Star with a shield that was protecting them from the whole of the Rebel Fleet - so destroying Endor would be counterproductive.
The 7th Sky Corps was a military corps of the Grand Army of the Republic. Like other units in the Grand Army, the ranks of the 7th consisted of clone troopers that had been engineered to fight for the Galactic Republic.
Who is higher rank, Captain Rex or Commander Cody?
They were often assigned to the same special operations missions, from rescuing a Jedi in an enemy prison to locating a traitor among their own ranks. Cody, though he outranked Rex, trusted in the captain's abilities, and placed him in charge on many occasions.
As such, a Marshal Commander was roughly equivalent to a Major General or Lieutenant General in other services; it was also the highest rank a clone could be given in the Grand Army of the Republic.
But these complaints often ignore the sheer number of Jedi who did die during Order 66 and shortly afterward. We are talking about, at least, a few thousand. Considering how few survivors there are—less than 100 as of 2023—the actual death toll is probably closer to nine thousand or so. That's still a lot of dead Jedi!
As far as you know, Anakin Skywalker and Captain Rex were very close friends during the Clone Wars. But before the battle for Coruscant, they had to split up and Rex went with Ahsoka to Mandalore, and Anakin went to Coruscant. After that, Anakin and Rex never saw each other again.
This indicates that Rex hasn't interacted with Obi-Wan since the Clone Wars, making an appearance by Rex in Obi-Wan Kenobi impossible without contradicting Rebels.
After Ashoka and Vader face off in season two (the season finale, I believe), Ashoka has a moment of realization, and Rex has a similar, though less prominent moment like that in a later season. Unfortunately, Rex and Vader never meet again though.
