The Death Star was designed by Geonosians led by Archduke Poggle the Lesser, a member of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. During the First Battle of Geonosis, he gave the plans to Count Dooku, who decided to ferry them to his Master Darth Sidious, who would keep them safe.
The idea for the Death Star began when the Confederacy of Independent Systems designed the Ultimate Weapon, using plans and concepts provided by Wilhuff Tarkin. Poggle the Lesser possessed the original (or a copy of the) plans, which he handed to Count Dooku during the First Battle of Geonosis.
Following the deaths of Jabba the Hutt and Xizor, head of the Black Sun, a large hutt named Durga took up their reigns of the criminal underworld. 12 years after the Battle of Yavin, Durga the Hutt managed to hack into the New Republic database and steal the Death Star plans.

Leia's ship intercepted vital Imperial plans stolen by Rebel spies. These plans, the complete technical readouts of the Death Star battle station, could be exploited by the Alliance to score a sizable victory over the Empire. Leia was given a mission by Bail Organa to recruit Obi-Wan Kenobi into the Alliance.
From Geonosis to the Empire: The Development of the Death Star. Attack of the Clones saw Dooku taking the plans for the Death Star from Poggle the Lesser, the Geonosian leader who had pledged support to Dooku's Separatists.

The black lightsaber, or Darksaber to give it its proper name, is one of the rarest lightsabers in Star Wars canon. Despite its rarity in canon, anyone who has seen the second season of The Mandalorian is likely to be familiar with the Darksaber.
