In the initial brawl, Maya loses the upper hand and is defeated by Clint Barton. He tells her they are both the same, weapons of rage easily manipulated. The hero goes on to reveal that the night he killed Maya's father, he was there thanks to an informant working for her boss, The Kingpin.
In Hawkeye, Maya Lopez is the commander of the Tracksuit Mafia, a gang that was previously run by her father, who was killed by the Ronin, Clint Barton's (Jeremy Renner) secret identity that was introduced in Avengers: Endgame.
Was Hawkeye working for Kingpin when he killed Echo's father? He wasn't working directly but he did Kingpin work indirectly. So We know Clint was on killing spree during those 5 years. Kazi who was also working for Kingpin, directed Ronin towards Maya's father on his order.
Last we saw Wilson Fisk in Marvel Studios' Hawkeye, Maya Lopez was shooting the character in the face. Maya assumed he was dead. Viewers, too, were led to assume he was dead. So, to the surprise of everyone — including a very shocked Maya — Fisk lives to fight another day in Marvel Studios' Echo.

2021's Hawkeye revealed that, while Clint Barton's Ronin had killed Maya's father, Zahn McClarnon's William Lopez, it was actually Wilson Fisk who ordered this attack on his own Tracksuit Mafia.
Maya Lopez, aka Echo, is an anti-hero. She cannot be considered a classical superhero due to her extreme anger and bloodlust. Superheros aren't conventionally associated with such an extreme desire for vengeance. However, once Maya has made her peace with her family, she can no longer be considered a villain.
Echo concludes with a showdown between Maya and her surrogate father, Wilson “Kingpin” Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), and instead of avenging her biological father's (Zahn McClarnon) murder, she used her powers to access the treacherous crime lord's mind in hopes of healing the childhood trauma that made him who he is today ...
As in comic books, Clint's grief and trauma led him to leave behind his Hawkeye identity to become Ronin, though in the MCU this is due to the loss of his family as a result of Thanos' Snap.
The only real standout being Vincent D'Onofrio's excellent portrayal of Kingpin, but even that is tarnished by the writing and a limp wiltering flower of an ending. Echo also suffered from bad editing with the pacing and storyline feeling like they were all over the place.

The Punisher's benefactor breaks him out of prison, whereupon Castle reveals he killed the Kingpin to acquire his high-tech weaponry, specifically a holographic scrambler, which Castle uses to disguise a helicopter as the Fantastic Four's Fantasti-car, so he can infiltrate Latveria to kill Doctor Doom.
Ronin's persona was first adopted by none other than Maya Lopez (aka Echo), who's actually in line for a spin-off Disney Plus show of her own at the moment. Echo is revealed as Hawkeye's antagonist at the end of episode two (in one of the best entrances of a new character so far in the MCU).
Maya later assists the Avengers in investigating the ninja clan known as the Hand. Maya encounters a Skrull in disguise as Elektra Nachios, AKA Elektra, who leads the Hand. The Skrull-Elektra kills and resurrects her in an attempt to brainwash her into working for them.
They are not changing Echo's powers in her series because the director dislikes her comics powers. They are doing it in order to connect them to her Native American roots and create a more unique narrative and backstory.
One of the Black Widow's worst enemies is, without a doubt, the assassin known as the Iron Maiden. Often hired by the criminal known as Damon Dran, Iron Maiden has often been contracted out to kill the Black Widow herself.
After the Kingpin is killed by the Punisher in issue #21, Vanessa has his body cremated and flushes his ashes down a toilet. She appears ready to take charge of her husband's former empire, as her chauffeur calls her "Madam Kingpin", but in issue #22, she is ambushed and killed by Nick Fury.
Taloa decided to drive and get some, asking Lopez to come with her. However, as they were driving, they were involved in a car crash which instantly killed Lopez's mother and resulted in her losing her right leg.
Picking up after the events of Hawkeye, Echo finds Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) at a crossroads. She discovered that her adoptive uncle Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) was responsible for the death of her father, and promptly shot him in the face.
Yelena took the contract under the mistaken belief that Clint was responsible for the death of her sister Natasha Romanoff in Avengers: Endgame. Separately, Tracksuit Mafia leader Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) had a vendetta against Clint for killing her father as the masked vigilante Ronin.
And just to answer the question above: no, Kingpin does not die. In a post-credit scene, New York's own Pat Kiernan tees Wilson up for the idea that — presumably in Daredevil: Born Again — he should run for Mayor of New York.
Instead of killing Kingpin, she offers him a second chance and appears to change his personality. In both the scene immediately following the vision and in the Echo post-credits scene, actor Vincent D'Onofrio gives Kingpin a slightly lighter, more sympathetic look – puppy dog eyes, if we've ever seen them.
