After Count Dooku severed the right arm of Anakin Skywalker in the opening battle of the Clone War, a mechno-arm was grafted to what was left. Luke Skywalker had much of one grafted to his wrist after Darth Vader severed his hand at Cloud City.
Luke's severed hand was actually retrieved by agents of the Empire and used by the mad Dark Jedi clone Joruus C'baoth to generate a clone of Luke: Luuke Skywalker. Luke's lightsaber as seen in the comic, is green. The lightsaber Luke lost during the duel was blue.
The L-hand 980 was a prosthetic hand model produced by Antilles BioGen (ABG). The model was used by medical droid 2-1B to replace Luke Skywalker's hand after it was lost on Bespin. ABG later discontinued the arm that went with the hand, but 2-1B suggested the J2J model prosthetic arm from Organa Organics.
