After being stabbed seemingly to death and left to bleed out, he was somehow resuscitated, and appears in medical emergency recovery in his last frame.
Given the time frame of Scream 6, Tara is approximately 20 years old, while Sam should be about 26. Filming for Scream 6 took place from June to later August 2022. This would make Ortega only 19 at the time of filming since the actor's birthday is September 27th.
As he gets closer to Tara, he strikes up a romantic relationship with her and he is later stabbed multiple times by two Ghostface killers whilst trying to protect her and is once again left for dead, however he is able to survive his injuries once more. He is portrayed by Mason Gooding.

Tara Carpenter is nearly killed by Amber Freeman. Amber firstly slashed Tara's stomach, then broke her anckle, pierced Tara's hand and finally stabbed Tara twice in the back and once in the chest. However, Tara survived the attack and became the first victim, who was not killed in the opening.
Early casting calls and scripts portrayed Amber as formerly in a relationship with Tara Carpenter. These elements were cut from the theatrical release for unknown reasons. Amber is one of the most brutal Ghostface killers in the Scream franchise, alongside Charlie Walker, and Kieran Wilcox.
Her father is actually Billy Loomis, Sidney Prescott's ex and the Ghostface from the original film. Alongside the Carpenter sisters (named after Halloween director John Carpenter, I'm sure) are Chad (Mason Gooding) and Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown), twins who are friends of Tara's from high school.
Also leading the new generation of Scream characters was Tara, Sam's half-sister, and together they survived a new wave of Woodsboro murders and a Ghostface killing spree in New York City.
They flee upstairs and barricade themselves in Quinn's room. Mindy goes into Quinn's bathroom only to walk in on a literal bloodbath. The dead body of Paul, Quinn's hookup, lay contorted in the bathtub, giving Mindy a scare.
However, the final scene of Scream 6 shows Chad alive and with his friends. While he will have to deal with the trauma that he has been through, he is of course relieved that the nightmare is over, at least for now.
The absence of Sam and Tara's story in Scream 7 makes it unclear how the series will continue. The departure of Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega leaves numerous mysteries surrounding Sam and Tara unresolved.
It was then reported that Jenna Ortega won't be in "Scream 7" because of "Wednesday" season two. Variety reported Ortega won't take part due to scheduling conflicts with the second season of Netflix's huge hit "Wednesday."
At the hospital, Tara and Richie are attacked by Ghostface, but are saved by an arriving Dewey and Sam. Sam, Tara and Richie escape, but Dewey is killed when he attempts to finish off Ghostface. Sidney arrives in town after learning of Dewey's death and meets both Gale and Sam at the hospital.
