4DX films will not necessarily be presented in 3D. If the particular film is also presented with 3D, glasses will be required. 3D glasses are available to purchase in cinema for an additional $1.00, and are yours to keep and reuse on future visits. 3D glasses are not included in the ticket price.
You may be hit by (clean) water or bubbles from treated water that may stain cloth, especially silk, during the Projection. For this reason we do not recommend you to wear/bringing along any clothes and accessories made of delicate materials.
4DX is often mistaken for or compared to IMAX 3D. However, both are vastly different standards. IMAX screens have more to do with the picture quality and the sound, whereas 4DX is more about the seats and practical effects. 4DX cinemas can screen both 2D and 3D movies.
4DX equipped auditoriums employ motion enabled chairs, which create strong vibrations and sensations, as well as other environmental controls for simulated weather or other conditions, such as lightning, rain, flashing (strobe) lights, fog and strong scents.
There's guidance before the film starts that 4DX is not suitable for people who suffer from motion sickness and it's clear to see why as the chairs move for much of the film in response to what's happening on the screen.
However, if the film is not presented in 3D, you don't need to wear glasses. Naturally, by combining the 3D effect and this technology, the feeling of immersion is unprecedented…

Despite being a Digital screen, it does deliver comparable punch like the traditional dome shaped auditoriums. Sound is great too, with Dolby Digital. This one is worth returning to!

What happens if you watch a 3D movie without the glasses?
If you look at a 3D image with your naked eyes (no glasses) you'll notice the picture has 2 layers, one is red and one that is blue, but it is never perfectly aligned with the red part, it's always off centred. This is on purpose.
Using this, the film maker layers two polarized versions of the images onto the screen angled from two slightly different perspectives. Without the 3D glasses, the movie appears fuzzy because the the two images are confusing without the polarization effect.
The two parts of a 3D signal that reach your eyes require the use of either Active Shutter or Passive Polarized Glasses to see the result. When such images are viewed without 3D glasses, you see two overlapping images that look slightly out of focus.
The motion seats of the 4DX system are programmed to move according to a predetermined sequence during movie screening. As a result, motion seats can cause the following problems: your personal effects (e.g. popcorn, beverages etc.) may be dropped or spilt.
