Elsa's opening narration reflects on grief and death. She has left her post with the cattle, staying instead by the wagons. One morning, she leaves the wagons to sit by herself after getting her period (she won't be carrying Ennis' child).
She starts episode 6 as she finished episode 5—in tears. While crying in the back of the wagon, she pauses and notices she's bleeding. She informs Margaret she's going for some privacy because she got her period. This most likely puts an end to the fan theories that she is pregnant with Ennis' baby.
Indeed, as there are no condoms or any other reliable form of birth control in the frontier, there's a real possibility that Ennis really did impregnate Elsa. Sadly, before 1883 could even drop any clues that Elsa was pregnant, Ennis died in the next episode while Elsa died during the finale.
Sam. A Comanche warrior who the Duttons met along the wagon trail in 1883, Sam professed to have taken his name from the man who killed his wife. He later began a romance with Elsa Dutton, and the two married without official ceremony.
In a stunning twist, Elsa decides that she will not make the rest of the journey to Oregon, opting to stay with Sam, marry him and make a life together. It's a decision that garners a great deal of pushback from James and especially Margaret (Faith Hill), who is not ready to relinquish control over her daughter yet.

Does Elsa end up pregnant?
Does Elsa get pregnant in 1883? The Yellowstone prequel never clarified whether Elsa (Isabel May) and Ennis (Eric Nelsen) consummating their relationship in 1883 season 1, episode 5 “The Fangs of Freedom" resulted in Elsa getting pregnant.
Elysium is the first daughter of Elsa and Jack Frost, protagonists in Frozen and Rise of the Guardians. She is also a Princess of Arendelle and Junior Guardian of Winter.
Elsa, who had decided to see her family in Oregon before returning to be with Sam, may be dead, but just as her spirit narrates the series (and the following 1923 series), so it's implied that her spirit reunites with Sam's in the afterlife. Whether this means that Sam too is dead is unknown, but it's not unlikely.
Elsa was also planning to split from the group to stay with Sam, but after many goodbyes, everyone decided they were going to Oregon anyway. Even Elsa decided to leave her boyfriend so she could find out where Oregon was, while planning to return to the plains in June to reunite with him.
The site Elsa chose to be buried was a valley called “Paradise” which ended up becoming the Yellowstone Ranch. Though the Duttons finally made it to the future site of their homestead, it came at the cost of James and Margaret losing their beloved daughter Elsa.
After Elsa and Ennis consummate their relationship, Elsa all but informs him they are now engaged. This is pretty indicative of how seriously teens like Elsa take their first sexual experiences and is a reflection of how naive she is at the time.

Speaking from the grave as Elsa, she informed viewers that her parents, James and Margaret, died after the events of 1883; first James, followed by Margaret. But before her death, Margaret wrote a letter to her husband's brother, Jacob, who then found and raised Elsa's surviving brothers, John Sr. and Spencer.
The two then ride off where Sam tells Elsa that he chose his name after a man named Sam killed his wife; he wanted to take the man's name after taking the man's life. (Sam killed Sam.) Sam gives Elsa a nickname, “Lightning Yellow Hair.”
In Frozen 2, Elsa's voice changed slightly to reflect the character's growth and evolution since the events of the first film. Idina Menzel worked closely with the filmmakers and the voice over agency to ensure that her performance captured the changes in Elsa's character.
When they showed what was finished of the film to a Story Trust group several months prior to release, many were still confused about who the voice was supposed to belong to. It was after that the decision was made to fully commit to the voice calling to Elsa being that of her mother, Iduna.

Meanwhile, fan-favorite Shea Brennan (Sam Elliott) made good on his promise to see the Pacific Ocean so his late wife could “use [his] eyes to see the world” — then promptly shot himself.
She grew fond of him and their romance bloomed until there was a shootout with some bandits, resulting in Ennis's death. She later met a Comanche warrior in Kansas named Sam who she connected with, giving her a second chance at love. She later agreed to accept Sam's hand in marriage, but there was no ceremony.
Then you follow it with Ennis dying and Elsa quickly moving on and falling deeply in love again, so soon. She is heartbroken after his death, willing to kill herself and then within weeks, she meets a person from another culture and falls madly in love with them?
