A prince hears the voice of Rapunzel and commits to finding her. He finds her and then loses her when he discovers the witch has sent her away. Jumping from the tower, the Prince must wander around blindly until he reunites with the woman he loves.
Does Rapunzel's Prince have a name in Into the Woods?
According to a previous posting on the Disney website, names were changed to correlate with Disney fairytales — Rapunzel's Prince to Flynn Rider, Cinderella's Prince to Prince Charming and Cinderella's Stepmother to Lady Tremaine.
When the prince calls that night, the sorceress lets the severed hair down to haul him up. To his horror, he finds himself meeting her instead of Rapunzel, who is nowhere to be found. After she tells him in a rage that he will never see Rapunzel again, he leaps or falls from the tower and lands in a thorn bush.
Flynn fell completely in love with the lost princess and helped her reunite with her parents and reclaim her throne. Eugene went back to his birth name, stopped thieving, and married Rapunzel a few years later. The two are currently living happily ever after.

Eventually by the end of the series, after all their adventures together, Eugene proposes to Rapunzel during the finale, "Plus Est En Vous", and she ecstatically accepts and they at long last finally get engaged. The two get married in "Tangled Ever After".
When looking for Jack, the Baker's Wife ends up talking to Cinderella's Prince, where he falls in love with her and tries to seduce her. She feels wrong, knowing that she is cheating on the Baker, and he on Cinderella, and he leaves her starstruck with the idea of being loved by a member of the Royal Family.
In the stage show, Rapunzel gave birth to twins near the end of the first act (which, by the way, the math indicates these twins were conceived the very first time she and the prince met, but that's not my point). Then she gets stomped by the giant.
Although Flynn Rider never mentions how old he is on-screen, the animators behind Tangled have confirmed (via Showbiz Cheat Sheet) that Flynn is 26 years old in the movie.
