In the original movie, Ronno first appears from a bush where Faline disappeared, while she and Bambi were on Cloud 9. Ronno doesn't speak, but his actions do. He had a crush on Faline since childhood, and he wanted her for his mate - whether she liked him or not.
Bambi goes back for Faline, but she is already out searching for him. After saving her from Man's hunting dogs, they eventually escape from the fire, and make it to safety. The following Spring, they have newborn twin fawns.
