Anna brings Belle to meet Grand Pabbie, who can restore her memories. He pulls something magical from Belle's head, then tells her to go where she lost her memories. Then, he gives her a stone, and tells her to it put in tea and drink it at the place where she lost her memories to get them back.
Belle later "remembers" her cursed self as a scantily-clad barfly named Lacey, who encourages the darker urges in Gold. Gold later finds a potion that returns her original identity, after which she does not use the name "Lacey".

Is Rumpelstiltskin evil or good? Rumpelstiltskin is a morally complicated character. He seems good at first because he offers to spin the straw into gold for the girl, but things quickly escalate when he asks for her firstborn in return. In the end, Rumpelstiltskin is evil.
