Although Lara Jean and Peter's relationship ends in To All The Boys: Always & Forever, after her decision to attend NYU creates an ever-widening chasm between the pair, they do reconcile in the end. Peter comes to realize that, no matter how far apart they'll be, it's worth trying for because they love each other.
The film ends with Lara Jean's reflection on wanting what she has with Peter, regardless of what films say and what stereotypes say about long-distance relationships. She remains optimistic that the distance will offer them the opportunity to keep writing love letters to one another.

Sex. One of the biggest changes is that, in the book, Lara Jean and Peter never sleep together. They come very close during Beach Week — a graduation tradition that involves a bunch of seniors drinking at Nags Head — but they end up fighting, much in the way things happen after prom in the film.
Who does Lara Jean marry? Lara Jean does not get married in the To All The Boys I've Loved Before book series, so we imagine she doesn't get married in the movie version either. Her father, however, marries Trina and at their wedding, Lara Jean and Peter reunite and decide to stay together.

Having promised her mother not to go to college having a boyfriend, Margot breaks up with Josh. Josh, however, is sure that she broke up with him because they had sex and she didn't want to feel attached. Josh and Lara Jean have been friends since their childhood.
And of course, there's drama over whether the heroine, Lara Jean Song Covey (Lana Condor), should have sex with her boyfriend, Peter Kavinsky. Lara Jean is a virgin. Peter is not. Lara Jean skips into her house, grinning, after a date with Peter ends with a peck on the lips.
I think that common sense media exaggerated by saying there was a 'pretty steamy hot tub scene' but that was really exaggerated nothing happens or was described. Also the book was surprisingly clean there was NO sex!
Is "to all the boys I've loved before" inappropriate?
Though there's no nudity and no sexual activity beyond kissing/embracing, teen sexuality is a frequent subject of conversation. Characters talk about having/not having sex, safe sex, virginity, menstruation, condoms, etc. A dad drinks wine, and underage kids at a party appear to be drinking alcohol.
Lara Jean's fear of intimacy, though, keeps her from admitting her feelings to Peter until almost the end of the novel. Over the course of the novel, Lara Jean starts to come of age. She feels pressure to step into Margot's shoes and act as a mother figure to Kitty, in addition to keeping the household running.
Peter and Lara Jean do appear in "XO, Kitty" — kind of. In the very first episode, Kitty is convincing her dad (played by John Corbett) that she should get to go to South Korea to attend KISS for her junior year to be with Dae, and she uses her matchmaking résumé as evidence that she knows what real deal love is.
