“I went, like, years without eating carbs.” The star then added, “When I shot Baywatch, I didn't have a carb for, like, six months. I almost lost my mind. You need this. I still can't get over how this diet of carbs and low protein is the exact opposite of everything any trainer has ever taught me.”

Anyone who's seen the movie can attest that Efron's body looks almost unreal on screen. That's because the process of achieving the muscly physique involved extreme tactics, including overtraining, eating the same three meals a day, and taking a powerful diuretic called Lasix, reports the publication.

For neighbors Zac Efron stands in a 5'9″ and weighs about 155-160 pounds. But for Baywatch, I would estimate that Zac Efron is about 5-10 pounds heavier putting him at 165-170 pounds.
I'd estimate him to be around 162-164 lbs at about 5'9, MAX. As well, I'd estimate his chest to be around 41” in circumference, his arms to be about 15” and his waist to be a very taut 29-30”. "I started to develop insomnia and I fell into a pretty bad depression, for a long time. Something about that experience burned me out," Efron told Men's Health. "I had a really hard time recentering. Ultimately they chalked it up to taking way too many diuretics for way too long, and it messed something up."

“I implemented an all-organic whole-food diet,” says his trainer, Patrick Murphy. Efron also supplemented with whey protein—“unflavored,” adds Murphy, who also stipulated it could contain no other ingredients (NOW Whey Protein Isolate is a good example). “He also hit a minimum of 100 ounces of water daily.”
