Scream 6 is already here, but its main character, Sidney Prescott, isn't in it. Star, Neve Campbell, has some good reasons not to return. Though Ghostface makes his return to theaters with the new sequel, fans will not see Sidney in Scream 6.
Campbell hasn't ultimately said goodbye to Sidney and the Scream movies, so if the studio agrees to pay her fairly, it's likely she would return as a character for Scream 7. New characters might be at the center of the current Scream story, but Campbell will always be the face of the franchise.

Throughout the film, Sidney struggles with sleeping with her boyfriend, Billy Loomis, because she's still coping with her mother's murder and isn't in the right headspace. However, she finally has sex with him later in the film, which seems like a bad idea according to Randy's rules.
