Annie Cresta is one of the victors of District 4. She won The 70th Hunger Games at age 18. She also got married by her mentor, Finnick Odair. She suffered from PTSD after her Games, after seeing her district partner being beheaded by a Career during the Games she was in.
Finnick Odair is the youngest winner in history, winning at just 14 years old. District 2 has the most overall winners, producing "Career Tributes" and having the highest number of victors among all districts.
Finnick competed in his own games, the 65th games, at the age of 14. Finnick won these games through having the support of sponsors and his ability to use a trident. Given the nine-year difference between his games and Katniss and Peeta's, Finnick is 23 at the time of the events of the first Hunger Games.

While in the woods, Haymitch runs into three career tributes. He's outmanned but not outgunned as he quickly kills two of them with his knife. The final tribute manages to disarm him, and as they go in for the kill fellow District 12 tribute Maysilee Donner kills the career with a dart.
This interaction was so surprising to fans because it's not in the books at all. While, throughout the series, there's some chemistry between the two, nothing ever comes of the tension in Suzanne Collins' novels. Beyond the kiss, nothing happened between the two in the movies either.

Despite knowing she wouldn't make it out of the arena alive, viewers grew fond of Mags as she was not only willing to volunteer for Annie to be in the Hunger Games, but stepped into the poisonous fog to sacrifice herself with no hesitation.
Sadly, Phillip Seymour Hoffman died while filming the final installment in the series, and there was no way around the fact that his characters' role had to be lessened. Specifically he was meant to be in the scene in the film with Katniss where instead Haymitch reads a letter to her from Plutarch.
When he was 16, Haymitch was reaped for the Second Quarter Quell, wherein four, instead of the normal amount of two tributes from each district participated. He became an ally to a girl named Maysilee Donner, the original owner of Katniss' symbolic mockingjay pin, but was later forced to watch her die.
