The film used various ways to portray Chucky, including radio-controlled animatronics operated by up to nine puppeteers, extras of short stature, and child actors. Kevin Yagher was in charge of the puppetry for the film. Various animatronics and cosmetics were used for every scene.

How Did Chucky Become A Doll In Child's Play? The 1988 Child's Play opens with serial killer Charles Lee Ray (Brad Dourif) escaping from the police. Shot and wounded, Ray flees into a toy store and performs a voodoo ritual to transfer his soul into a Good Guy doll called Chucky.

Eventually, Chucky leads them to the Play Pals factory where Andy and Kyle try to kill him. After a series of losing his arms and legs, Kyle finally puts an air tube in Chucky's mouth, making his head explode.

Unfortunately, as is so often the case, that Good Guy doll has been possessed by the spirit of a serial killer, the notorious Charles Lee Ray. After gruesomely murdering several people in Andy's life, Chucky attempts to transfer his soul into Andy so that he can be a real boy.
In order to get Glen's soul into a human body, Chucky's semen is inserted by Tiffany into Jennifer so she can bear a child for Glen to use. As the two awake the next morning, unaware of the events of the night before, Jennifer suddenly experiences morning sickness and realizes that she is pregnant.
Now going by "Tiffany Ray", Tiffany plans to transport her soul into the body of Jennifer Tilly (who happens to be playing her in the film). They also plan to impregnate her and put Glen's soul in the baby's body. Their plan is successful, as Jennifer swiftly gives birth to two babies, a boy and a girl.
Following the events of “Bride of Chucky,” Tiffany, in doll form, gave birth to a child who was born a doll rather than just a soul trapped in one like their parents. Glen grows up and is introduced in “Seed of Chucky” as a sweet child who doesn't share their parents' appetite for murder.
Long before Chucky decided he loved ruining lives as an unassuming doll, he sought to return to a human body. In service of that quest, he aimed to retrieve an amulet that was buried with his human corpse. As the journey began, Chucky revealed his grave was in Hackensack, New Jersey.
