At the climax of the story, Jason battles his nemesis Tommy Jarvis and his great-niece Stephanie Kimble; Stephanie impales him before Tommy decapitates him with a shard of glass. Jason's soul is then absorbed by Freddy, who uses it to increase his own power.

Why did Jason start killing?
Some interpretations suggest that the audience has empathy for Jason, whose motivation for killing has been cited as being driven by the immoral actions of his victims and his own rage over having drowned as a child.
As an adult, he never speaks, though perhaps this is because we've never witnessed interactions with someone he trusts. The reason it's a “maybe” check is because selective mutism can also be a response to trauma, which Jason most certainly experienced after witnessing the death of his mother.
On Friday the 13th, the counselors hired to work there are killed off one by one. The killer: Pamela Sue Voorhees, whose 11-year-old son, Jason, allegedly drowned while swimming at the camp in 1957.
However, he somehow popped up in one piece back at Crystal Lake at the start of Part IX. Then he was blown to bits, although his heart continued to beat. The living heart allowed him to possess living humans. Then we learn Jason can be born again through another Voorhees, and that only a Voorhees can kill him forever.
Diana Kimble (nee Voorhees) was Jason Voorhees's half-sister and the mother of Jessica Kimble. Diana, a longtime employee at Joey B.'s Diner, was killed by her own half-brother in 1993 before her corpse was used to give new life to his body.
This all comes to a head in Jason Goes to Hell, which features a rather convoluted “explanation” for why Jason has never died: he can only be killed by a member of his bloodline. Of course, that goes out the window… because he is brought back.
Jason is notably furious when the deception is revealed. Pamela (played by Nana Visitor) has a minor presence in the 2009 Friday the 13th reboot. The opening scene shows her chasing a young girl, presumably Alice, at the end of her Camp Crystal Lake killing spree, who ultimately decapitates Pamela with her own machete.
None of the camp counselors helped Jason, as they were busy having casual relations. Because Jason comes back “from the dead” older and larger, it seems more likely that he didn't die that day at Camp Crystal Lake, after all. Instead, he grew up and came back for revenge.
Why is Jason afraid of water? Back in 1957, when Jason was 11 years old, he supposedly drowned at Camp Crystal Lake. Later in the film, during Jason's nightmare in the dream world, Freddy was deep inside Jason's subconscious, and that is the only place where Jason actually has a fear of water.
In Jason Goes to Hell, the otherwise silent killer did speak. As much as we wish he'd said something cool like "Puny Human," his line was just, "Freeze! Get the hell away from her, Ed!" In Jason Goes to Hell, a mortician eats Jason's heart, which allows Jason to possess his body.
Tommy Jarvis is the only person to survive two different movies against Jason Voorhees. In the first movie, Tommy was a young boy played by Corey Feldman. Jason returned from the last movie and started killing again, with only Tommy and his sister Trish as the last two survivors.
When he resurrects, he becomes more powerful. This power is somewhat similar to a Zenkai Boost (from Dragon Ball Z). Immortality: Jason can seemingly never die permanently for no matter what happens, he just keeps getting back up.
While the Finland Massacre may not have been Jason Voorhees' "real story," it seems that the murders of Camp Crystal Lake gleaned at least a little inspiration from the brutal murders at Lake Bodom in the 1960s. Friday the 13th is available to stream on Max.
The "ch ch ch ah ah ah" also conveys the idea that Pamela is actually hearing Jason's voice in her head as she's killing victims. Like the shark theme in Jaws, this whispering let audiences know that Friday The 13th's killer is actually around, even though they can't be seen.
In his original appearance, Jason was scripted as a mentally disabled young boy. Since Friday the 13th, Jason Voorhees has been depicted as a non-verbal, indestructible, machete-wielding mass murderer. Jason is primarily portrayed as being completely silent throughout the film series.
