When contemplating a showdown between Aliens and Predators, one must consider the context of the battle. If it's a straightforward one-on-one encounter in a neutral environment, Predators would likely have the upper hand due to their advanced weaponry, combat skills, and disciplined approach to hunting.
Predators are not invincible, and the franchise showed they can die with well-placed stabbings or decapitations. In this case, Hanzo battled the Predator and killed him with a masterful sword thrust, although Hanzo also died in the same battle due to his injuries.
What is the difference between an Alien and a Predator?
Aliens require no sustenance at all, only hosts. Predators do require sustenance, and if an Alien is their only option, then the Alien's acidic blood would make it inedible. Predator dreadlocks are actually an essential part of their sensory system. The expanded universe of Predator comic books, games, and novels reveals that the hair-like appendages are flesh and blood sensory organs. They bleed if cut and are vital to Yautja awareness.
They never kill innocent, sick, unarmed people or pregnant women, and they show great respect towards those who have defeated their own kind. However, there are Predators who will not follow any code and are considered villains even by their own kind.
