I'm sorry, but this is a completely inappropriate film, although funny and with actors we know and love. If this was truly a film for kids ( even teens), then please spare us the sexual and implied content between the adult and the child. I actually find this beloved film quite disturbing.
This show is mostly harmless, if dumb. However the content seems made for 8-10 year olds but uses words like "oh my God, crap," and- most jarring to me- "sexy". In one particular epsiode the word sexy is used multiple times.
However some scenes are inappropriate for children under age 12. I would not have brought my 10 year old to see this. A wife is shown self-administering fertility shots. In a bedroom scene a wife is suspected of sleeping with another man while her husband is away, birding.
Steve Carrell is also a very interesting character in his dramatic role, more for the commitment to character and character arc transitions that he offers. This film is definitely for adults. It has A LOT of bad language -- A LOT, but it is all character/setting driven (if that's any consolation).

Overall, Big is a great movie and you will love it, but there are a lot of questionable parts to keep in mind depending on your kid's age. Commonsense Media says 13+, Parents are saying 11+ and so are the kids. Finally, they agree!
