Din Djarin (pronounced /dɪn ˈdʒɑːrɪn/), known as The Mandalorian, or Mando for short, is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, who appears as the titular protagonist of the Disney+ television series The Mandalorian and also appears in its spin-off The Book of Boba Fett.
While complex in his code and history, Din is far from evil. Does Din perform bounties and take some lives in the process? Absolutely. However, fans have never seen him taking out innocent civilians outside the bounty.
Din is trustworthy and has integrity. Throughout the series, he has delivered on his promises. Boba Fett helped him rescue Grogu from Moff Gideon, and Din returned the favor in The Book Of Boba Fett. He was ready to fight alongside Boba to the bitter end.

Well sure, Mando can probably get to Palpatine for some one-on-one or even get the jump on him, but he's arguably the most powerful Sith Lord in existence.
By the time of the sequels, Din Djarin - who was born prior to 19 BBY - will have aged considerably, and no longer be "in the prime of his life". The sequels take place from 34-35 ABY, which means that, by the end of The Rise of Skywalker, Din Djarin has outlived Luke Skywalker, and is about 54 years old.
There have been other Mandalorians who have become Jedi, though. The first was Tarre Vizsla, the Mandalorian Jedi who created the Darksaber. Huyang mentions in Ahsoka episode 3 that there have also been few other Mandalorians who have trained to be Jedi in addition to Tarre and Sabine.
Since The Mandalorian is set around five years after the film, it's set after Darth Vader's death. However, considering it's still a fairly tight time period, the impact of the Empire is still felt, with season 3 exploring the impact on the members of Moff Gideon's crew, Elia Kane and Dr Penn Pershing.
And with the Darksaber now in the hands of Mando himself following the Mandalorian Season 2 finale, it's safe to say this blade will continue to play a big part in the series and spinoffs like The Book of Boba Fett.
All of that goes to show that Mando not being able to lift the Darksaber has nothing to do with how he acquired the blade or his failing the Creed. Accordingly, the best explanation is still that the Darksaber doesn't personally approve of Mando.
Because the Darksaber's sentience intertwined its fate with the rulers of Mandalore, Mando's rejection of that role meant that their wills could never align. That's why he has so much trouble wielding the weapon: it doesn't want to be wielded by a selfish bounty hunter who doesn't care about Mandalore.
So in the end, While Boba Fett had the more destructive arsenal, and had more experienced, Mando just had the better armour armour, the skill, and the versatility to take Down Boba Fett. Boomstick: Looks like Mando, is the greatest bounty hunter of all time! the winner, IS THE MANDALORIAN!!!!
At the time of The Mandalorian story, it is pretty clear that Moff Gideon is not a Sith Lord even though he has the Darksaber in his possession nor does he have any links to the Jedi. Moff Gideon is nothing more than one of the Empire's existing bad guys who officially worked for the Imperial Security Bureau.
However, note that The Children of the Watch cannot be completely trusted. Case in point, the ones who rescued Din Djarin from subjugation by the Separatist Army during the Clone Wars were Death Watch commandos.
The Gideon we know is not the genocidal manic that decimated Mandalore but a clone. The galaxy widely believes that Moff Gideon was executed, but we are led to believe that he faked his execution.
