Eeyore (/ˈiːɔːr/ EE-or) is a fictional character in the Winnie-the-Pooh books by A. A. Milne. He is generally characterized as a pessimistic, gloomy, depressed, anhedonic, old grey stuffed donkey who is a friend of the title character, Winnie-the-Pooh.
In the Winnie the Pooh universe, the only female character that ever appears with any regularity is Kanga. She and her son, Roo, are kangaroos who are friends with Winnie, Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore, and all the other male characters in the series.
Christopher Milne loved the bear and so Edward bear became Winnie bear. The 'Pooh' part of the name was then also added on – it came from a swan called 'Pooh' that Milne had met on holiday!
It's a well known theory that eeyore is suffering from depression or dysthymia disorder. His low mood, sarcastic negative criticisms, and distaste for social situations are constant reminders that eeyore is not in the best frame of mind.
In this film, they're ruthless killers. When Pooh, Piglet, and the other Hundred Acre Wood residents are abandoned by Christopher Robin (Nikolai Leon), they struggle to fend for themselves. While suffering extreme starvation, Pooh makes the decision to kill and eat Eeyore.
Things take a dark turn, though, when Christopher goes to college, starvation sets in during winter and Pooh, Piglet, Owl and Rabbit kill and eat their buddy Eeyore. The incident essentially breaks them and they become enemies of mankind, making a pact to become feral and never speak like humans again.
Piglet. When we look at piglet we associate the color pink with girl so most people think that piglet is a girl (poll done by me at a gender studies program on Winnie the Pooh) but Piglet has a very boyish voice. Piglet is never referred to as he or she.
Piglet is pink all over, with darker pink ears and solid black eyes. He is usually seen in a deep pink, striped jumper. He sometimes wears a scarf, though not terribly often. He is considered to be a "very small animal" due to him being the smallest (other than Roo) out of the friends.
“Eeyore is hardly ever happy, and even when he is, he's still sardonic and a bit cynical. Ironically, he actually seems to enjoy being gloomy to an extent and sees it as the essence of his very being.”
Despite being one of the most prominent characters in the source material, Tigger wasn't a part of the original Blood and Honey. The reason, as writer/director Rhys Frake-Waterfield told us earlier this year, was that Tigger wasn't a part of the public domain when the first movie was in production.
Eeyore is a character that displays a relatively accurate example of major depressive disorder. One major issue with the character portrayed is his consistent involvement with a support group.
In fact, Tigger is not in Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey because, unlike other Winnie-the-Pooh characters like the one featured in the movie, Tigger has not entered public domain yet.
For Tigger, he created a slight lisp and a laugh. He credited his wife, who is British, for giving him the inspiration for Tigger's signature phrase: "TTFN.
Kanga and Tigger bonded originally over their love of bouncing. Tigger and Kanga now live side-by-side to avoid suspicions about the naughty nature of their relationship. The Hundred Acre Wood isn't very accepting of inter-species dating, but even less accepting of pre-marital shagging.
In this adaption, after being abandoned and left to starve by Christopher Robin, Pooh alongside his close friend Piglet unleash their barbaric, feral instincts due to their newfound hatred of Christopher and humanity itself, becoming savage serial killers who murder anyone who visits the Hundred Acre Woods.
Without him around to feed them, and with the arrival of winter, the creatures went into starvation. In order to survive, they settled on killing and eating Eeyore, which developed in them a hatred for humanity. They vowed to return to their feral instincts and never speak again.
In this adaption, Piglet alongside his closest friends Pooh, Owl, Rabbit and Tigger become barbaric serial killers after being abandoned by Christopher Robin, forcing them to devour their friend Eeyore. Piglet would assist Pooh in kidnapping, torturing and murdering anyone who enters Hundred Acre Woods.
