Dru Gru is the twin brother of Felonius Gru and son of Robert and Marlena Gru, grandson of John Gru or Madeleine Gru and Henry Gru, Lucy Wilde's brother-in-law, and the adoptive paternal uncle of Margo, Edith, and Agnes. He is an aspiring villain who wishes to learn from his retired brother Felonius Gru.
Dru is the twin brother of Gru and is incredibly wealthy. He strives to be a supervillain and to make his father (who sees him as a disappointment) to be proud of him.
In the third film, after he and Lucy are fired from their jobs at the Anti-Villain League, Gru learns that he has a twin brother, Dru, whom he never met due to their divorced parents raising each child separately.
As is seen from the family tree Gru's name is spelled Felonius instead of Felonious. As his grandparents on both sides share the last name Gru, we can assume that his parents are cousins, making Gru a child of incest.
