The same can be said for Halbrand becoming the Mouth of Sauron. This is another character about whom very little is written. Once again, no one knows his true name, not even he himself. He is said to have lost his name somewhere in the thousand years of his servitude to Sauron.
Did you know that Halbrand was actually Sauron from the very beginning? Charlie Vickers: It was revealed later. The show went on a hiatus after the second episode because of COVID.
The Rings of Power episode 8 ("Alloyed") reveals Sauron, as many had already predicted, was hiding in plain sight all along. Also as many had predicted, Sauron was actually Halbrand all along. The supposed Southlander Galadriel met on the Sundering Seas was Morgoth's missing right-hand man from the beginning.
The Mouth of Sauron was a Black Númenórean who "entered the service of the Dark Tower when it first rose again". He had forgotten his original name, which is not remembered in any tale. The Mouth of Sauron learned great sorcery and knew many of the Dark Lord's plans as a servant of Sauron.
Halbrand refused to reveal his true identity to Adar
He served under Morgoth and claims that he killed Sauron. He does not seem to recognize Halbrand as Sauron, and yet he carries out what we can assume is his master's evil bidding by setting in motion the events that burn the Southlands and create Mordor.
One thing episode 6 of The Rings of Power completely puts to rest is the theory that Adar could be Sauron. Adar certainly knew Sauron, but he wasn't a fan. He tells Galadriel that in his quest to master Middle-earth, Sauron sacrificed many of Adar's children. Because of this, Adar killed Sauron.
A mysterious individual of the Second Age was referred to as Adar, or "Lord-father", by Orcs, presumably because, according to Galadriel, of his status as one of the Moriondor, the first Elves to be captured and tortured by Morgoth.
He will fight in the Last Battle against the Valar and their allies, but will ultimately be slain by Túrin Turambar, the Man he cursed. By finally defeating Morgoth, Túrin will avenge not only himself, but all members of the race of Men.
Morgoth, the first to reign terror upon Middle-earth, was more powerful than Sauron and commanded an army of dragons and Balrogs. While both Morgoth and Sauron were cunning, Morgoth's rule and terror lasted longer and his corruption spread further, making him more formidable in the Lord of the Rings universe.
Who did Sauron disguise himself as? In the Second Age, Sauron frequently disguised in "a fair form", and took the false identity of Annatar, "Lord of gifts", among the Elves and in the kingdom of Númenor, which he intended & succeeded to destroy from within.
As for whether Halbrand actually loved or romantically desired Galadriel is to be determined. Sauron is an expert manipulator and likely sees Galadriel and her power as an asset. In line with the old adage, "Keep your friends close; keep your enemies closer," he'd rather have her on his side than against him.
"So I think in his pitch to Galadriel, it cannot mean that he loves her or that there's any kind of romantic relationship. There should be no ambiguity around the fact that Sauron is evil — he's terrible, and he's using Galadriel to enhance his power."
Elrond discovered the scroll that revealed that Halbrand couldn't be King of the Southlanders, so it's likely that he realized that Halbrand was Sauron and that he escaped. Knowing that Sauron is on the loose, he could warn the dwarves of the growing evil and encourage them to forge their own rings.
The creation of the Halbrand identity seemingly served as a way for Sauron to start a new life in Middle-earth. Meeting Galadriel kicked his ambitions back into gear, but he was pretty hesitant along the way.
When Halbrand and Galadriel captured Adar, Adar seemed not to recognize Halbrand as Sauron. Adar also claimed to have killed Sauron after watching Sauron experiment on the orcs, whom Adar sees as his children. It's possible Adar was pretending not to recognize Sauron as part of a ruse.

Additionally, while he was in his weakened state, Galadriel could hold him off through the power of will alone. However, if Sauron had his One Ring and faced off in a battle against Galadriel, it's unlikely that there would be much she could do.
The whole reason why Gandalf got the dwarves and Bilbo on their mission to Erebor was because he feared an alliance between Sauron and Smaug. While it was unlikely that the dragon would serve Sauron, a collaboration was more than possible in Gandalf's mind (and his mind tended to be spot on).
Morgoth is the more powerful of the two. Morgoth was the mightiest of the Valar, a group whose weakest member would outpace Sauron. However, there are some circumstances and eras in which Sauron would win the day. Morgoth was born far beyond Sauron but lost and surrendered much of his power.
While Morgoth doesn't appear in The Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit, he plays a significant role in The Silmarillion and Tolkien's other writings, and his reign of terror had a far bigger impact on Middle-earth history than Sauron's — as seen in Amazon's The Rings of Power series.
It was said that Morgoth hated and feared the House of Fingolfin most among the Houses of the sons of Finwë, especially Fingolfin's son Turgon, as it was prophesied that his doom would come from the House of Turgon.
From a technical sense, Sauron and the Balrogs were Maiar, not Valar. That meant that they were designed as lesser beings from the beginning of time. Thus, in their original forms, Morgoth would have easily defeated Sauron in a fight.
When Galadriel calls Adar's kind — captured Elves tortured and twisted into becoming Morgoth's evil minions — “Moriondor,” which translates to “sons of the dark” in Elvish, Adar says he prefers the term “Uruk,” which is the word for “Orc” in the Black Speech of Mordor.
According to Galadriel, when the Elves first awoke at the beginning of the First Age, Adar was possibly one of many of them who were taken by Morgoth. He was tortured and twisted, becoming one of the first Orcs, a new and ruinous form of life.
Galadriel leaves Middle-earth in TA (Third Age) 3021 when she is around 8,000 years old. Given that the events of The Rings of Power take place before the Third Age, she's around 5,000 years old in the show. This is also corroborated by her birth date in Valinor of 1362 in the "Years of the Trees".
