Aladdin, Jasmine, the Genie, Abu, and Carpet engage Jafar in combat, but even when bound by the rules of the Genie, he easily outmatches them, using his tremendous powers to stop them from getting the lamp. His indiscriminate use of power opens a fissure in the ground which is filled with magma.
He tells Aladdin and Jasmine that he is no longer as powerful as he once was because free genies are not as strong as genies bound by lamps. Instead of having phenomenal cosmic powers with an itty bitty living space, he now has "semi-phenomenal, nearly cosmic powers" and is as free as a bird.
During the final fight between Aladdin and Jafar, the Genie is forced to grant Jafar's final wish to become an all-powerful genie when Aladdin convinces him to do so, much to his reluctance.
In the 1992 adaptation of Aladdin, where he is voiced by Jonathan Freeman, Jafar is the grand vizier of Agrabah, the Sultan's most trusted advisor. He is also an evil and sinister sorcerer who strongly dislikes being second best.

In Disney's Aladdin, Jafar's final wish was to be the most powerful genie. How was it possible for Genie to grant this wish of creating a more powerful being than himself? Jafar just wished to become an all powerful Genie.

The villain's plan eventually evolves to him staging a forced marriage with the princess, but a clear infatuation with Jasmine is built up throughout the movi. And, by the end of Aladdin, it is responsible for the grossest moment in any Disney film because of it.

Jafar reads aloud from the ancient scroll he so cleverly doctored, and proclaims that now he must become Jasmine's husband, and – most importantly – the next sultan! Jasmine and the Sultan try to stop Jafar, but to no avail, for Jafar now holds the power of the lamp.
According to Richard Prum, an ornithologist from the Yale University, how we perceive the colour blue is all about how light works. In his perspective, the genie, is in a gaseous state. So, the molecules in his body scatter light like the molecules in the sky do, thus making him appear blue!
It is not until Jafar gains control of the Genie's lamp that he fully shows his true colors, becoming very prideful, traitorous, manipulative and ill-tempered with his subjects after usurping power from the Sultan.
Testing of Genie's language occurred until the end of 1977, but in mid-1975, when she was 18 years old, authorities placed her in a foster care setting which subjected her to extreme physical and emotional abuse, causing her to become afraid to speak and to rapidly begin losing her newly acquired language skills.
She was malnourished and deprived of cognitive stimulation for most of her childhood. Researchers were also never able to fully determine if Genie had any pre-existing cognitive deficits. As an infant, a pediatrician had identified her as having some type of mental delay.
Genie was moved to various foster homes, leading to a great deal of regression in her language abilities, especially after again facing abuse and mistreatment, this time as a ward of the state. As of 2023, there is no public record of whether Genie is still alive, and if she is, where she is living.
Sadly, the biggest issue with Return of Jafar is how rushed and unfocused it is, as it would rather focus more on Iago trying to make amends with Aladdin and the gang than on Jafar plotting his master plan to rule all of Agrabah.
Finally, as it been revealed that Aladdin is not a prince, he can't marry Jasmine because of the law. He could use the last wish, but he already promised to use the third to release the genie free.
He also was depicted as laughing excessively and in a deranged manner shortly after banishing Aladdin to the North Pole, suggesting that Jafar was also insane and suffered from hysteria. Jafar displays narcissistic tendencies, his most obvious ones being his obsessive desire for power and sense of entitlement.
However, after he was killed and later revived by Hades as a spirit in an episode of the Hercules animated series, Jafar no longer has his genie powers, but remains as a sorcerer, and also demonstrated the ability to generate monsters, and was nigh-immortal so long as he had his staff.
Jafar's Snake Staff is a cobra-headed scepter owned by Jafar, in Aladdin. Initially and primarily used as a means of hypnosis, the ruby eyes made those who gazed into them become susceptible to Jafar's suggestions and obey his every order.
Aladdin 2 is currently not moving forward due to the recent strikes. Mena Massoud is ready to move on from the role and doesn't dwell on the lack of progress. A potential sequel could explore new storylines and focus on Jasmine's role as the Sultana.
