Just like the first Jaws, it almost goes without saying that there are shark attacks, only this one puts the teen characters as a whole in a lot more peril and panic than in the first one. There is some blood and gore in the attacks, and (spoiler alert) the shark is killed in dramatic fashion via electrocution.
As a sequel to an immensely popular classic, Jaws 2 had a lot to live up to, and while it doesn't reach the level of sheer terror of the original, it's still effective in creating thrills, some scares, and excitement.
While it lacks the originality, wit and character interplay that gave "Jaws" an exceptionally appealing impact, "Jaws 2" is proficient enough to avoid bombing out. It never comes close to the classic status of its predecessor, but for drive-in horror thrills, this still has sufficient bite.
But when you think about it, JAWS is the perfect film for anyone between the age os of 6 and 12. When they're little, kids love watching movies, sometimes over and over again.
This poster also indicates that, like Jaws, while rated PG, Jaws 2 “MAY BE TOO INTENSE FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN.” This warning seems to be more prominent, and with a strong emphasis on the “intense” part, than the similar warning in Jaws.

Ask anyone who's seen all four Jaws movies and they'll confirm it for you: Jaws 3 (or Jaws 3-D, if they saw it in theaters) is the worst of the bunch – mostly because of the 3D component.

There's no doubt that the meg was a true threat in the movie and one that, in many ways, was more intimidating than the shark from Jaws. But one aspect of it that was hard to ignore was how its dangers came from its impact on the world rather than the threat it presented to individuals.

When Hooper goes diving down to Ben Gardner's destroyed boat, we get a jump scare when Ben Gardner's severed head floats out of the boat. Quint's death scene is very disturbing as he slides in the sharks mouth and the animal chomps down on him.
Most of the pictures are incredibly gory and bloody. May upset some. A woman accidentally bites her thumb creating a cut, some blood is shown. Blood and gore is infrequent but when it happens there is lots of it.
