Appearances and abilities. In his first appearance in King Kong (1933), Kong was a gigantic prehistoric ape. While gorilla-like in appearance, he had a vaguely humanoid look and at times walked upright in an anthropomorphic manner. Like most simians, Kong possesses semi-human intelligence and great physical strength.
Megaprimatus Kong ("mega primate kong") is the infamous giant apes that inhabited Skull Island. At 25 feet tall (7.6 meters) and up to 8-12 tons in weight, they were largest primate to have ever lived. The specimen "Kong" was the most famous of the species and stood as its icon and deity by the Natives of Skull Island.
Supplementary materials for Peter Jackson's King Kong provide a great amount of detail on Kong's species, Megaprimatus kong, which is hypothesized to have branched off from a common ancestor of Gigantopithecus blacki, the largest primate ever to have lived, despite Megaprimatus' closer resemblance to gorillas.
A recent study on fossilised remains of the largest ape suggests that a “real king kong” like ape might have lived in Southern China centuries ago, before disappearing. This ape, as the study says, was almost 10 feet tall and weighed twice as much as a gorilla.
For reference a silverback gorilla that can lift 810 kg scaled up to kong's size (104 feet /31.6 meters, 158 tons) would be able to lift ~5200 tons if it had the durability to survive.
Instead, Godzilla acknowledged Kong as an equal and he returned to the sea. While it's impossible to know for sure what's in the hearts and minds of giant monsters, Kong apparently earned Godzilla's respect so the lizard left him alone.
This did not stop Cooper from playing around with Kong's size as he directed the special effect sequences; by manipulating the sizes of the miniatures and the camera angles, he made Kong appear a lot larger than O'Brien wanted, even as large as 60 feet (18.3 m) in some scenes.
The heaviest gorilla recorded was a 1.83 m (6 ft 0 in) silverback shot in Ambam, Cameroon, which weighed 267 kg (589 lb). Males in captivity can be overweight and reach weights up to 310 kg (683 lb).

The results reveal the creature's decline and ultimate demise in fine detail. Gigantopithecus blacki stood some 10 feet tall and weighed over 500 pounds, making it the largest known primate to ever live.
Kong's species was wiped out by the Skullcrawlers in a grand and brutal battle, leaving Kong as the last survivor on Skull Island. Kong's survival was due to his mother hiding him away during the battle, but his strength and eventual rise as the King of Skull Island were fueled by rage and fury.

Whereas Goku learned the Kaio-Ken from King Kai, Godzilla obtained his pink form from absorbing the DNA of a fellow kaiju named Tiamat. Differing power-up circumstances aside, Krichevsky confirmed that— like Goku's Kaio-Ken — Godzilla's pink form is temporary.
Supplementary materials for the 2005 film reveal that incarnation of Kong to be the last surviving member of a species called Megaprimatus kong, and that his kind are likely descended from Gigantopithecus, the largest known primate to have ever lived and a close relative of modern orangutans rather than gorillas.
After Kong's death, his body was burned; however, some of his blood remained on the Empire State Building for almost 80 years until it was discovered in 1999. It was then used by Denham's grandson Jack Denham to clone the beast and repatriate him to Skull Island as a sort of apology.
Summary. Godzilla is the clear winner in the battles against Kong, showcasing his superior power and invincibility. Despite losing the fights, Kong still plays a crucial role in the story, defeating Mechagodzilla and earning the title of "King Kong".
Not including Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, there have been five theatrical fights between the two since 1962. Of these fights, Godzilla has won three, Kong has won one, and there was one tie. So, as far as the movies are concerned, Godzilla is the stronger fighter.
In addition of aging slower despite being 252 million years old and still has the physical appearance of a giant reptile in his prime, Godzilla can practically live forever, though close-call instances such as exposure to the Oxygen Destroyer and his battle against Mechagodzilla confirmed that he can still be killed.
The Cross River gorilla is currently the world's rarest great ape, with a population of only around 250-300 restricted to a small area of highland forest on the border of Cameroon and Nigeria. The population of the eastern lowland gorilla has crashed in recent decades and is now under 4,000.
The gorilla and grizzly have a relatively similar bite strength, but the bear's build makes it harder for a gorilla's bite to be equally as effective. The gorilla's biggest advantage is its spry movement, whereas the grizzly's primary advantage is its claws. The grizzly is larger, but the gorilla is stronger.
So, till now, a Gorilla vs. Grizzly battle hasn't happened yet. So, we will assume an ideal scenario and compare both these animals according to their size, height, body features, and fighting abilities.
Perhaps the first question to be asked, however, was regarding King Kong's colossal growth spurt – one that's miraculously allowed him to match Godzilla's 400-ft stature. In Kong: Skull Island, the giant ape was just 104-ft tall, although it was pointed out that he was still growing.
Size. In Godzilla (2014), Godzilla is 354 ft (108 m) tall. In Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) and Godzilla vs Kong (2021), his height is increased to 393 ft (120 m) tall. In Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire it is increased again to 416 ft (127 m) tall.
The massive growth spurt isn't the only thing that's changed about Kong. In addition to his increased size, Kong appears much older in other ways. His fur has taken on a darker shade, and he's grown a beard that gives him the wise, seasoned look of a Titan who has lived a long life.
