Thanos, Kronos' grandson, threatens to destroy half the people in the universe, so Kronos resurrects Thanos' victim Arthur Douglas, and makes him Drax the Destroyer whose sole purpose is to slay Thanos.
Thanos' paternal grandfather is Kronos, the former leader of the Eternals on Earth. This does make Thanos an Eternal as well; although his physical mutations mark him as a Deviant. Regardless, the Eternals family line started by Kronos and his wife, Daina. Their union produced two sons: A'Lars and Zuras.
Created by Jim Starlin, the character first appeared in Iron Man #55 (February 1972). Kronos is a cosmic being who is the embodiment of time. He is the brother of Uranos. He is also the grandfather of the supervillain Thanos.

Why did Kronos turn evil?
While Kronos was benevolent to these primordial humans, he was also a paranoid and angry figure. In particular, he feared that his own children would continue the cycle of throne usurpation, a fear validated by a prophecy that his own child would defeat him.
Thanos was born on Saturn's moon Titan as the son of Eternals A'lars and Sui-San, the grandson of Kronos, the nephew of Zuras, and the grandnephew of Oceanus and Uranos. His brother is Eros of Titan. Thanos carries the Deviants gene, and as such, shares the physical appearance of the Eternals' cousin race.
Thanos was born to A'Lars, a member of the Titans, a race of powerful, god-like beings that evolved on the planet of Titan. He belonged to the royal family of Titan and was the adoptive brother of the Eternal Eros, who eventually left Titan.
Nebula appears in The Super Hero Squad Show, voiced by Jane Lynch. This version is Thanos' older sister. Nebula, based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) incarnation, appears in Guardians of the Galaxy (2015), voiced by Cree Summer.
Without the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos stands little chance against Prime Odin. Odin is stated to be able to shatter the Earth. And he turned Frigga into stars. He has devastated while worlds, laid waste to kingdoms and destroyed demons and monsters.
At the peak of their battle, King Thanos calls Thanos by his intended birth name: Dione. The story of how Thanos earned his name begins on the planet Titan. Thanos was born to A'Lars and Sui-San, members of a race of aliens called Eternals.
It is traditionally considered a depiction of the Greek myth of the Titan Cronus, whom the Romans called Saturn, eating one of his children out of fear of a prophecy by Gaea that one of his children would overthrow him.
Unfortunately, Kronos later became afraid that his own children would seize his power, so he consumed each child as soon as his wife, Rhea, gave birth to them.
Zeus overthrew his father because Cronus tried to kill him and his siblings. Cronus feared that his sons would one day rise up against him and destroy him, so he ate them as soon as they were born.
The villain in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is the strongest villain that Avengers have ever face. He's the son of Alars, a Titans, which considered as the strongest race, just like gods. But who would have thought if Thanos in MCU is thousand years old! His age even surpasses Thor, the god of thunder himself.
Deadpool, who Thanos had once cursed to undeath in an effort to keep him away from his beloved Death, believed Thanos was to blame and attacked him onboard Sanctuary. Thanos consequently rescinded his curse, turning Deadpool into the only mortal creature in the universe, and killed him for the transgression.
Thanos and Hulk have clashed several times in Marvel lore, with Thanos even admitting he was scared to face the Hulk before acquiring the Infinity Stones. While Thanos is usually the victor, it's generally down to him using superior tactics and technology, rather than simply possessing greater physical strength.
Over the years, Gamora became Thanos' favorite child, and he considered her the future heir to his throne, which only strengthened the growing wedge in her relationship with Nebula and in time, Gamora built up the reputation as the "deadliest woman in the galaxy" and became well known throughout the cosmos.
Starfox being Thanos' adopted brother also more easily explains the differences in their appearances. While Thanos' purple skin is never really explained in the MCU, it's the result of having Deviant genes in the comics. (Originally, all Titans had purple skin, including Starfox, but that has since been retconned.)
Cronus married his sister Rhea, and they had six children: Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus, father of gods and men. However, Cronus was a troubled and paranoid father, as his parents had warned him that his own children would turn against him, just as Cronus had turned against his father.
Zeus grew up, forced Cronus to disgorge his brothers and sisters, waged war on Cronus, and was victorious. After his defeat by Zeus, Cronus became, according to different versions of his story, either a prisoner in Tartarus or king in Elysium.
According to Hesiod's Theogony, there were 12 original Titans: the brothers Oceanus, Coeus, Crius, Hyperion, Iapetus, and Cronus and the sisters Thea, Rhea, Themis, Mnemosyne, Phoebe, and Tethys. At the instigation of Gaea the Titans rebelled against their father, who had shut them up in the underworld (Tartarus).
