Rowan Fielding (Alexandra Daddario) gives birth to her child and opens a portal, discovers that Cortland Mayfair (Harry Hamlin) is her real father, and embraces her demon lover, Lasher (Jack Huston).
Rowan initially rejects her offspring/lover, but ultimately protects him from Cortland (Harry Hamlin), who was revealed to be her father through rape; and Cip, who planned to take the baby to his bosses at the nefarious Talamasca agency –– at least that's what he told them.
Rowan seemingly gave birth to Lasher with the spirit Suzanne's aid. The baby grew rapidly in size and ability within the first minutes of its life. As Suzanne (Hannah Alline) explained, Rowan could accept or deny him. If the former, she would be granted immense power.
Rowan immediately goes into labor, which is violent and bloody, and Lasher enters the world as a human infant. But the hybrid baby immediately grows into a full-sized, intelligent man. Michael returns and tries to kill the creature, but Lasher is too strong and nearly drowns Michael in the pool.

Because we as a society cannot have nice things, it was revealed in the finale that Cortland is not Rowan's uncle as much as he's her literal biological father. Through a series of unsettling flashbacks, the audience (and Rowan!)
