Is Oppenheimer suitable for a 13 year old?
In the UK, Oppenheimer has been given a 15 rating by the BBFC for “strong language and sex”. In the US, the movie has earned an R rating for “sexuality, nudity, and language”, meaning that anyone under the age of 17 will require an adult guardian to accompany them if they want to see the film in cinemas.
It is a horror movie based on Stephen King's novel and is rated R for strong violence, language, and disturbing imagery. Due to the graphic and intense nature of the movie, it may not be suitable for children under 12 or 13.

Christopher Nolan gave up filming time for Oppenheimer in order to increase the budget for the production designer and recreate Los Alamos. The Cillian Murphy-starring film was originally planned to be filmed for 85 days but instead, it wrapped up in 57 days.
The whole film is shot using IMAX cameras, so watching it on a screen that supports the expanded aspect ratio and enhanced picture quality makes it a visual treat, and the sound design in the film is begging to be appreciated through a proper cinema sound system.
“Oppenheimer” was shot using some of the highest resolution film cameras that exist. Like “Dunkirk ” and “Tenet,” “Oppenheimer” was filmed entirely on large format film stock, meaning a combination of IMAX 65mm and Panavision 65mm (think David Lean/"Lawrence of Arabia"), that's then projected in 70mm.

Many estimates that IMAX film is equivalent to 18K of resolution. Actually, simple math can confirm that (when compared to 4 perforations of 35mm). However, that's true when watching the film in a real IMAX 15/70 projector, which is rare these days.
