It's pretty spot on with earlier installments. Notable differences from other franchise entries are less sex and sexual references and elevated gore and violence. "Scream VI" is officially rated R for strong bloody violence and language throughout, and brief drug use.
Violence is extremely strong and over the top, with lots of blood: spurts, sprays, and gurgles. Expect to see guns and shooting, characters dying, repeated stabbings, fighting, kicking, and punching, etc.
And yes, the famous killer Ghostface (who is often played by a different actor each time) will return to cause havoc on Sydney and her friends, as well as the newcomers to this film. “Scream” will be bloody and horrific. It's a rated-R film that you shouldn't bring your children to.
But don't be lulled by the star power and satire: The violence here is brutal, intense, and gory. Though the thrilling pace, high school drama, and steady jolts will likely keep young audiences watching, this movie is best for older teens and adults.

"Scream VI" certainly earned its R rating with language. There are plenty of curse words sprinkled throughout the movie. The F-word isn't used in every sentence, but when the action and terror ramp up, more are thrown out than usual.
No one behaves very admirably. Profanity here is more graphic than the gore. References to other movies. Parents need to know that while there's less extreme bloodshed here than in the other Scream features, stabbings and throat-slittings are still abundant, matched with (sometimes exceeded by) the swearing.
Sidney does still show lots of endurance and perseverance and Gale Weathers is still trying to get a good story on the new Ghostface, just like the first one. Again, the violence is too extreme for viewers under mid-teens, but this sequel is not a waste of time for those who liked the first “Scream” flick.
Some Scream movies have been too goofy to be truly scary, while others redefined the horror genre and shocked audiences. The original Scream is considered the scariest due to its unsettling level of believability and well-developed villains.
It has an interesting premise but played out in plenty of graphic strong groey violence that I feel like older teens can handle, but as for new teens/older tweens, don't let them watch. Not only for their saftey but because they don't need to be exposed to such gorey violence!
