I would say not to expect an R-rated version on this one," Tammi concluded. "We're really happy with how the PG-13 tone landed; it felt like the right fit for this particular film. We're sticking by it."

Can 12 year olds watch the FNAF movie?
We see a man that turns purple covered with blood and half of his face has the ennard skull. Then we see see the same purple hand, sitting at the couch. A man is stabbed with a hook. Unlike the FNAF games, the movie is not suitable for children and young teenagers due to it's bloody violence and disturbing content.
A lot of the violence is depicted off-screen, but with occasional gory aftermath and without shying away from showing blood. Man gets his face eaten by a character, aftermath is later shown. A character gets killed offscreen. A man gets cut multiple times in one scene only blood.
Well so many were hoping for the FNaF Movie to be Rated R I already had a feeling it would get either a 14+ rating (Which seems like it is treated like it no longer exists) or PG13 which ended up being the rating it got.
It manages to blend family-friendly elements with spine-tingling scares, making it suitable for older kids and teenagers, especially those who are fans of the franchise. However, it's important to be aware that the film does contain moderate violence and gore, making it a true PG-13 horror experience.
Summary. The Five Nights at Freddy's movie doesn't quite stack up against M3GAN. The Five Nights at Freddy's notably lacks scares and good kills, making it feel too kid-friendly. M3GAN became a horror icon by handling the idea of evil animatronics better.

Today brings us a fresh update on Tammi's film: according to the good folks over at Bloody Disgusting, Five Nights at Freddy's has been given an MPA rating of PG-13 for “strong violent content, bloody images, and language.” So, the movie will be bloody, just maybe not super bloody.

The Five Nights at Freddy's movie is strictly for those 15 and over. Director Emma Tammi certainly hasn't watered down any of the elements that make the FNAF games so tense – in fact, ODEON's atmospheric big screen and surround sound dial them full up.
Violence includes a general sense of terror, screaming, jump scares, deaths, panic, threats, and more. A monster chomps a character in half and attacks people's faces and legs. Young children are in peril, abducted, and shocked. Gory corpses are seen.

It's pretty bloody for a PG-13-rated horror movie, though it's probably not as grisly as you might expect if you've played the games. Tammi's movie also spans 110 minutes, which might surprise viewers given how fast-paced and over-edited many scenes are.
