Fortunately, the baby found an adoptive family in the real world, and it's revealed that the child has a star birthmark on her wrist, just like the one young Lily and Emma bonded over as children.

Maleficent was born in an enchanted forest kingdom known as the Moors, bordering the human kingdom. Her parents were killed by humans, leaving her as an orphan.
Later, Snow and David use Maleficent's unborn offspring to transfer their own unborn child's darkness into it, before the Sorcerer's Apprentice banishes Maleficent's child through a portal to Earth, where it grows up to be a girl named Lily.
In an upcoming episode, Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) have their second baby, while the residents of Storybrooke go on high alert in an attempt to keep Zelena (Rebecca Mader) from stealing the newborn for her own wicked purposes.
Maleficent: [before kissing Aurora to awaken her from her enchanted sleep] I will not ask your forgiveness because what I have done to you is unforgivable. I was so lost in hatred and revenge. Sweet Aurora, you stole what was left of my heart. And now I have lost you forever.
But once she is betrayed, “her heart begins to turn to stone and she becomes a more malevolent Maleficent, she hides her hair and horns under wraps,” designed and made by members of Team Maleficent from leather and other materials meant to look like snake and animal skins.
Maleficent confirms that Aurora will grow in grace and beauty, "beloved by all who know her", but as revenge for not being invited by the kingdom, she curses Aurora so that before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday, she will prick her finger on a spinning wheel's spindle and die.
This is to keep her safe from any spinning wheels that might have escaped the purge he ordered for the kingdom. As Aurora grows up, Maleficent finds herself looking after the girl from a distance and protecting her so that she survives to her 16th birthday.
The angular, vertical style of Sleeping Beauty was designed by Eyvind Earle. As the film begins she is fifteen years old and on the verge of her sixteenth birthday when she is cursed to prick her finger on a spinning wheel and fall into a death-like sleep until she is awakened by True Love's kiss.
