I understand that some kids are more sensitive to other things and that's why common sense made the little things seem big. I said 12+ but really it doesn't matter. If you think you or your kid are mature enough to handle swearing or violence then I say go for it.

The plot does have a few weak points and dangling threads, and the PG-13 rating ensures that the violence is tamped down before it can reach its full bloody potential.
