Wonka is a fantastic family-friendly adventure and if you've ever wanted to try out 4DX I think this is the perfect screening to get a taste for it – who wouldn't want to be transported to a world filled with 'hover chocs' that help you fly?
If you're going to see a film in 4DX, Wonka is a good one to choose as it is action packed meaning there's plenty of opportunities to feel immersed in the film as your seats shake and vibrate to match the on screen adventure.
It's not just the sweet smell of chocolate that will enliven the senses, as 4DX has effects like snow, wind and water timed to enhance the scenes playing out on screen so you feel like you're discovering the magic of chocolate right along with Wonka and his friends.
We just watched Wonka on 4D X and it was the ultimate. immersive movie watching experience. We set out on our own adventure with Wonka. The onscreen visual synchronized with motion seats.
Wonka still isn't in my wheelhouse and if you don't enjoy musicals, I'm hesitant to recommend it. But if you're attached to the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory story or if you're in the mood to be swept away into a fantastical world of imagination, I think you'll enjoy Wonka wholeheartedly.

Is Wonka worth seeing on Big Screen?
Overall, there were many good qualities of the film, and many bad qualities as well. Depending on what someone enjoys in the film could generate a stronger opinion on “Willy Wonka”. Even with the lowlights of the movie, it is definitely worth experiencing.
The 4DX experience is not suitable for all cinemagoers*, but for those who are able to attend a screening and want to get fully immersed in another world I think it's worth the extra cash, especially if it's a film you've been eager to see.
4DX is a 4D film presentation system developed by CJ 4DPlex, a subsidiary of South Korean cinema chain CJ CGV. It allows films to be augmented with various practical effects, including motion-seats, wind, strobelights, simulated-snow, and scents.
4DX equipped auditoriums employ motion enabled chairs, which create strong vibrations and sensations, as well as other environmental controls for simulated weather or other conditions, such as lightning, rain, flashing (strobe) lights, fog and strong scents.

The motion seats of the 4DX system are programmed to move according to a predetermined sequence during movie screening. As a result, motion seats can cause the following problems: your personal effects (e.g. popcorn, beverages etc.) may be dropped or spilt.
Can the 4DX effects be turned off? There is a button on the arm rest, which can be used to turn the water effects off. No other effects can be turned on/off. All chairs will move together, and no individual chairs can be stopped.
