Only nine months before his death, J.R.R. Tolkien still was of the opinion that Celeborn was only a kinsman of Thingol afar off, because Celeborn came from Valinor and that his orginal name was Telporno.
Galadriel eventually departs Middle-earth for Valinor. She and Celeborn part for what is, according to The Rings of Power, the second time. Eventually, Celeborn, too, leaves to join her, and “with him went the last living memory of the Elder Days in Middle-earth,” according toOpens in a new tab The Lord of the Rings.
In the War of the Ring, Celeborn defended Lothlórien and led the assault on Dol Guldur. He remained in Middle-earth for a time at the beginning of the Fourth Age, but eventually joined his wife in the Undying Lands.
But, though Elves came from Valinor to fight against Morgoth, it was never actually their real home. In fact, according to supplementary Middle-earth material, the Elves actually came from another place entirely – Cuiviénen.
Eärendil thus became the first of all mortals to set foot on Valinor. Eärendil then went before the Valar, and asked them for aid for Men and Elves in Middle-earth, to fight against Morgoth; the Valar accepted his plea.

What Elves never went to Valinor?
All those Elves who never reached Valinor are "Dark Elves." In the First Age, the Sindar viewed the term "Moriquendi" as offensive, so the Noldorin Exiles gave the name Úmanyar ("Those not of Aman") to those who started the journey but did not finish it.
They note, too, that a mortal's stay in Valinor is only temporary, not conferring immortality, just as, in medieval Christian theology, the Earthly Paradise is only a preparation for the Celestial Paradise that is above.
By the Time of The Lord of the Rings, Galadriel Is Over 8000 Years Old. With Galadriel being born in YT 1362, that means she lived for 138 years in Valinor, as the Years of the Trees ended in 1500. So, her 138 years, multiplied by 9.582, places Galadriel at 1322 years old when the First Age of Middle-earth began.
In Valinor, Gandalf was called Olórin. He was one of the Maiar of Valinor, specifically, one of the people of the Vala Manwë; he was said to be the wisest of the Maiar. He was closely associated with two other Valar: Irmo, in whose gardens he lived, and Nienna, the patron of mercy, who gave him tutelage.
There isn't any reason for The Rings of Power to write Celeborn out of the narrative, so if anything, Galadriel saying Celeborn was killed in the war isn't a way of writing him out of the show so much as a tease of his eventual addition in a future season.
We know precisely nothing about Legolas's mother. In the Hobbit movie trilogy, they had some lines that suggest that she was killed by orcs but that is entirely non-canon. We know that Legolas's father Thranduil is a Sindar Elf so we could probably assume his mother is as well.
Galadriel was more tired and weary of Middle-Earth than Celeborn, and she just wanted to take the ship when there was one available. Celeborn had still things to do in Middle-Earth, and he would leave only later.
(The most likely blood relationship between Thingol, Celeborn and Legolas would have been that one of the Silvan elves in Legolas' ancestry was related the the Silvan female who married Elmo, Celeborn's ancestor and Elu Thingol's younger brother. It would not have been a close kinship.)
Being one of the chief leaders of the Noldorin rebellion, Galadriel was not allowed to return and a ban was set upon her, to which she replied that she had no wish to do so.
Thranduil was a Sindarin Elf, which meant that he had never been to Valinor, and he grew up in Doriath under the leadership of King Elu Thingol and Melian the Maia.
Generally, the Valar only permitted immortals the right to reside in the Undying Lands. In the Third Age, Frodo, Bilbo, and later Gimli got special dispensation to travel to the Undying Lands because they were ring-bearers. Going to Valinor did not grant them immortality.
After the War of Wrath, with the downfall of Morgoth and the destruction of Thangorodrim, Sauron adopted a fair form and repented his evil deeds in fear of the wrath of the Valar. Eönwë ordered Sauron to return to Valinor in order to receive the judgement of Manwë.
6 Gandalf. As previously stated, Gandalf is a Maia and is therefore superior to Elves regarding power. Still, this isn't to say that an elf couldn't develop enough skill and power to defeat a Maia. As a bearer of one of the Three Elven Rings (Nenya), Galadriel would have an edge against Maiar like Saruman and Radagast.
Elrond's was born nearly 600 years after Galadriel, but he was born as a half-elf, and so until he made the choice to become an elf, he aged at a faster rate, though still slower than mortals. Tolkien says that his initial 24 "growth years" took 24 sun years, after which each life-years took five sun years.
In the notes to The Annals of Aman, Tolkien stated a single Valian year lasts 1,000 Valian days. Each of these Valian days is divided into 12 Valian hours, with each Valian hour having a duration equivalent to 7 solar hours. Thus, a single Valian year would last 84,000 solar hours.
Are any of the elves who first awoke Cuiviénen still around by the time of LOTR? The oldest elf in LoTR is Círdan the Shipwright, the oldest Elf still remaining in Middle-Earth, who appears at the end of Return of the King to sail to Valinor.
Finwë is the first person to be murdered in Valinor: he is killed by the Dark Lord Morgoth, who is intent on stealing the Silmarils. The event sets off the Flight of the Noldor from Valinor back to Beleriand in Middle-earth, and its disastrous consequences.
Put simply, the Elves can't return to Valinor in The Rings of Power because their work in Middle-earth is unfinished. There is far more context to the situation in Tolkien's writing, but The Rings of Power skipped The Silmarillion's complexities regarding Elves and the War of Wrath.
Some fans think Valinor is like Lord of the Rings' heaven, but that's not the case. Mortals died in Valinor, just like they did in Middle-earth. The Lord of the Rings ended on a fairly happy note.
