Scabbers the Rat & Trevor the Toad Ron Weasley's fat rat named Scabbers was played by 12 different real rats in addition to a fake, mechanical one. During Scabbers' big candy-box scene on the Hogwarts Express, the mechanical rat was mostly used.
Peter spent twelve years living in his Animagus form as the Weasley family's pet rat, Scabbers. However, his identity was exposed by Sirius and Remus in 1994, and Pettigrew, with nowhere else to go, sought protection in returning to the service of Lord Voldemort, whom he found in the forests of Albania.

Scabbers thrashes around desperately when Ron takes him from his pocket to show Professor Lupin. Lupin and Sirius Black tell Harry, Ron and Hermione that Scabbers is actually a wizard and an Animagus, and that his name is Peter Pettigrew."
Why was Ron Weasley allowed to bring a rat to Hogwarts? The instructions given to Harry stated that first-years were allowed to bring an owl or a cat or a toad. Scabbers was technically a hand me down from his older brother so Ron was stuck with him.
Scabbers was actually, as we know, Peter Pettigrew, an unregistered animagus hiding out as the Weasley's pet rat. No matter how hard he focussed his intention on turning the rat yellow, or even if he'd said the words rattus colovaria (erm, we did our best) the spell would never have worked because the rat wasn't a rat.

In the spring of 1998, during the Skirmish at Malfoy Manor, in a moment of rare mercy, he hesitated to strangle Harry Potter when Harry reminded him of his life debt. The silver hand Lord Voldemort had given Pettigrew interpreted his hesitation as weakness or disloyalty, and strangled him to death.

Last but not least, Rowling made sure to mention when describing Scabbers that he was missing one of his toes. When Pettigrew faked his death, he cut a finger off and left it behind, so Scabbers having only one toe was the biggest clue to its real identity.
However, Pettigrew was able to frame Sirius for his betrayal of the Potters, the murder of twelve Muggles, and the staged murder of Pettigrew before Sirius could accomplish this. Sirius was sent to Azkaban and, after twelve years, became the only known person to escape the prison unassisted.
In early editions of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Hermione Granger is said to receive eleven O.W.L.s, scoring ten O's and one E. However, after the events of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Hermione shrunk her class load from twelve subjects to ten, dropping both Divination and Muggle Studies.
On 1 March, 1997, Ron Weasley was poisoned when he drank some poisoned oak-matured mead that was intended for Albus Dumbledore. Harry, remembering the above mentioned incident in Potions class, quickly found the bezoar he had given Professor Slughorn and shoved it down Ron's throat, saving his life.
Luckily, after the battle was over, Madam Pomfrey was able to heal Ron and no lasting damage was done to him, but he still had the scars from the tendrils of thought that coiled around him when he touched the brain. According to Pomfrey, thoughts can leave deep scars.
Though it seems like a silly, throwaway moment to show Ron is a goofball, one theory posits that the dirt had a secret source all along. According to the theory (via Reddit), Ron got dirt on his nose while using Floo powder to travel to the train.
In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Hermione points out to Ron that he has dirt on his nose. The reason why he has dirt on his nose is because his family travels by using Floo Powder, which is introduced in Chamber of Secrets.

In the second book of the Harry Potter series, The Chamber of Secrets, the audience becomes aware of the fact Ron is incredibly afraid of spiders. The being around them scares him immensely and the mere idea of spiders turns him into the world's biggest baby.
