While many viewers knew that she'd surely be alright since this is a Disney film and love cured a frozen heart before, the confirmation of Elsa's death via Olaf's disappearance made it that much darker in the second film.
Frozen II is a beautiful continuation of one of the greatest animated films ever made. We know the story and characters from the 2013 film, so it's not as original, surprising and innovative as the first one, but as the story evolves so does the animation.

Elsa (Idina Menzel) demonstrates traits of paranoid personality disorder. She is definitely guarded and suspicious. She is so scared her powers will hurt someone again that she closes herself off. Also, she does not want to strike others with “fear”; Elsa wants to be accepted, not chased away.
Critically, Elsa isn't the movie's villain. Her love for Anna, and Anna's love for her, is what saves the day by the end of the film, and she learns to revel in her powers once she discovers that she can control them through love (awwwww).
