Lightning McQueen – Corvette While McQueen is not modeled directly after a specific make and model, the artists mixed and matched elements of the Chevrolet Corvette C6 and Corvette C1.
He is not based on any particular type of vehicle, but seems to most closely resemble a C6 Chevrolet Corvette and Dodge Viper. His body is painted red with yellow and orange lightning bolt stickers featuring his racing number on his sides.
While McQueen is certainly partly inspired by the C6. R Corvette, his bodywork is an original design inspired by many different race cars, but mainly based on the Generation 4 NASCARs that made up the top level Stock Car field when the movie was released in 2006.
In the movie, Lightning McQueen is depicted as a red race car with yellow lightning bolts on the sides. He has NASCAR-style wheels, a rear spoiler, and the number 95 painted in orange on his body. The NASCAR design is pretty obvious, given that the franchise is themed on racing.

Lightning even started to slow down because of the Next-Gens arriving and ended the season horribly with a near career-ending crash. Months later, McQueen recovered from the crash and was ready to race again.
Chick is a 1979 Shyster Cremlin, a fictional car based on and designed after a 1986 Buick Regal in NASCAR form. Chick is painted green, with the number 86 painted on his doors, and has yellow rims. He also has a grille, which serves as a mustache.
Background. Mater's design is based on a 1955-57 Chevrolet Task Force Tow truck once used to lift equipment from mine shafts in Cherokee County, Kansas.
In Cars 3, it is revealed that Mater and Holley's relationship is still going very strong and at the end of Cars 3, Mater distracts Sterling by mentioning that he has church flaps, hinting that he's someday getting married to Holley Shiftwell. He still loves her unconditionally and she still loves him unconditionally.
Cars. Mia and Tia, often referred to as "The Twins", are identical twin Mazda Miata sisters who are Lightning McQueen's self-proclaimed biggest fans. They are, however, quite fickle; after McQueen's disappearance, the twins suddenly become ardent fans of Chick Hicks.
Lightning McQueen is not actually the fastest car in the WGP. In fact he isn't even in the top three. Francesco Bernoulli, Carla Veloso and Shu Todoroki are all faster than him. However, he shares his top speed with Jeff Gorvette and Miguel Camino, tying them together for fourth in terms of the top speed.

Pretty much yeah. Pixar doesn't like acknowledging the majority of Cars 2 besides the World Grand Prix and I guess the dent being connected to Mater meant it was connected to the spy part of the movie (despite him getting it in Radiator Springs) and might've just took it out to ignore the film even more.
Mater returns in Cars 3 but in a smaller role compared to the first two films. In the first scene he is next to McQueen and tells everyone around to keep quiet so McQueen is ready for the race.
Afterwards, he is forced to go into his sponsor Rust-eze's (a company that sells a rust-cleaning product) tent, which is full of rusty old cars, which Lightning hates.
Knowing how talented and successful he is, Jackson has a oversized ego, and disrespects other racers beyond simple trash talk. One of Storm's biggest rivals was Lightning McQueen, who crashed while attempting to keep up with Storm at the Los Angeles 500.
Tow Mater is a 1951 International Harvester L-170 and yes probably so it was a kind of tow truck but I wasn't born around that time. I was born later. HERE HE IS!!
