The historic city of Bergen, Norway's second-largest city, inspired the look and feel of the fictional Arendelle village in the Frozen franchise. The village of Arendelle is a typical fairytale setting, with a large castle set within a traditional village, surrounded by lush green forests and sparkling waters.
The movie's plot takes place in the fairy, fictitious town of Arendelle, which resembles many Norwegian towns and cities. And it comes as no surprise since almost all traditions and landscapes in the movie are taken from Norway.
Heavily influenced by Norwegian nature, culture and traditions, Frozen introduced us to unforgettable characters like Queen Elsa and her sister Anna, the ice harvester Kristoff and his reindeer Sven, Olaf the snowman and a bunch of cheeky trolls.

Are Anna and Elsa Danish?
The home of Anna and Elsa is a fictional location made for the purposes of the magical world of the Frozen franchise, but Arendelle and its people are based on the Scandinavia region of northern Europe, which encompasses Denmark, Norway, and Sweeden.
