Alice with the potion. Alice Liddell found a couple of bottles of potion (Flavors: cherry tart, custard, pineapple, roast turkey, toffee and hot buttered toast) in Wonderland, with a label marked "Drink Me" tied around their necks.
If you don't know the story, Alice meets up with a hookah-smoking caterpillar who tells her that if she eats out of one “side” of a (round) mushroom, she'll get bigger, but out of the other side, she'll get smaller.
In one of her first adventures, Alice finds a potion with “drink me” on its label, that shrinks her to just 10 inches tall. A magic cake then has the opposite effect – she is now so big her head hits the ceiling.
Despite his rudeness, the Caterpillar provides Alice with helpful advice, such as “Keep your temper” and “One side will make you grow taller, and the other side will make you grow shorter.” Thanks to his mushroom, Alice is able to grow from 3 inches to the towering height of the trees with a small bite.
She wishes that she could fold herself up like a telescope and enter. This wish becomes possible when she finds a shrinking potion and a key to the door. The potion reduces her to ten inches high, but she forgets to take the key with her (!)

Summary. After finishing the cake that says “EAT ME,” Alice grows to nine feet tall and finds that she can barely get an eye down to the doorway. She begins to cry, and her massive tears form a sizable pool at her feet. The White Rabbit reappears and mutters to himself about keeping a Duchess waiting.

It is eventually revealed that she was born around 1901 in Biloxi, Mississippi, and was committed to an asylum because she had premonitions. Alice was transformed by an old vampire who worked at the asylum to protect her from James, a tracker vampire who was hunting her.
Character. Alice is a fictional child living during the middle of the Victorian era. In Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865), which takes place on 4 May, the character is widely assumed to be seven years old; Alice gives her age as seven and a half in the sequel, which takes place on 4 November.

Curiously, Alice grows and continues to do so until the climax of the trial, perhaps symbolizing that Alice has embraced her position of power in Wonderland, unafraid of the consequences of disobeying authority, for those with power in Wonderland are “nothing but a pack of cards” (108).
Throughout the story Alice experiences a series of disorientating experiences as she grows and shrinks in size. Sometimes she is too big, and other times she is too small, which we can relate to the sensations many young people and tweens experience when they feel too grown up for some things, and too young for others.
