Meg's injury restores Hercules' strength, which he uses to confront Hades and retrieve Meg's soul from the River Styx before it reaches the underworld, ultimately reviving her. Hercules' sacrifice for Meg proves himself a true hero, becoming a god in the process and finally allowing him to return to Mount Olympus.
Unfortunately, after Lycus kills Megara's father and takes control of Thebes, things start to go badly: Hercules kills Lycus and rescues Megara. Hera is jealous because Hercules is the product of her husband Zeus having an affair. Hera sends Hercules into an insane rage during which he kills Megara and their children.
Third Plot Point: Hades threatens to kill Meg unless Hercules makes a deal to give up his strength for twenty-four hours, dependent on Meg's safety. Hercules agrees, unaware of Hades' true plans.
To recover Meg's soul, Hercules goes to the underworld and risks his life by leaping into the River Styx. This act restores his godhood and immortality, so he is able to reach Meg's soul and climb out alive.

Why did Heracles give Megara to his nephew?
Heracles gave his wife, Megara, age thirty three, to Iolaus, then only sixteen years old – ostensibly because the sight of her reminded him of his murder of their three children. They had a daughter, Leipephilene. He was one of the Heraclidae.
Hera hates Heracles because he is a living reminder of her husband's infidelity. Because of this she is cruel to him. She could bring about Herakles' death but instead she wants him to suffer. She sends Madness to drive Heracles to murder his wife and progeny.
How long did Hercules have to give up his strength for to save Meg?
Once Phil is gone, Hades appears, and offers Hercules an ultimatum: if Hercules gives up his powers for 24 hours, Hades will allow Meg to go free, with the provision that the deal will be voided if any harm comes to her.

Hercules then asked for help from the gods to end his life, and he received it. The Greek god Zeus sent lightning to consume Hercules' mortal body and took him to live with the gods on Mount Olympus.
Realizing that he has been poisoned, Hercules builds his own funeral pyre and burns himself to death on it. After he died, Athena carried him to Olympus on her chariot. According to legend, he will spend the rest of eternity with the gods.
Hercules possesses the greatest strength of all the Olympians and is stronger than even his father, Zeus. His strength exceeds that of most other powerful Marvel Comics icons, which he proved when he took away Mjölnir from a Thor clone in Civil War, one of the best Marvel Comics events.
