The Barbies become obsessed with the Kens and brainwashed by Patriarchy. The only change that Ken made to Barbie Land was to reverse the roles that men and women have in relation to each other. Now it is the Barbies must change their personalities to meet the Kens' needs.
Barbie returns, bringing two humans, Gloria and her daughter, Sasha, with her; and she is shocked at what Barbieland has become: a city known as Kendom. Although Barbie is a little uncomfortable at first, her breaking point is when her house is now owned by Beach Ken and renamed his Mojo Dojo Casa House.
All of Ken's villainous deeds are strictly either out of his idiocy or out of his insecurity, feeling that he didn't have a proper role in Barbieland. He even openly admits at the end of the movie that he didn't like ruling a patriarchy at all, and felt that he could never express his true feelings to anyone.
The most perfect plastic pair had been together for 43 years when the surprising split was announced. Mattel said that it was just time for the two dolls to spend some time apart, with some hints pointing to Ken's avoidance of the marriage subject.
When Ken goes to the real world, he discovers patriarchy and he LOVES it. He has been “redpilled”. Patriarchy explains his aggrievement, and affirms his feelings. He takes patriarchy back to Barbieland and transforms it to Kendom, where the men change it to a society oriented around men and their power (and horses…).

Why did Barbie reject Ken?
He continuously ignores and piles it on which leads to the downfall of Barbie land. In her head, she sees nothing wrong with what she is doing, so the rejection, slowly or harshly turning him do, is unintentional.
