Type of Villains WCKD is Good. World In Catastrophe: Killzone Experiment Department, generally abbreviated to WICKED (WCKD in the film adaptation), is a flagitious organization that was originally formed to find a solution to the Flare Pandemic. They are the main antagonists of The Maze Runner franchise.
Finding a Cure: The ultimate goal of placing the boys in the maze is to find a cure for the flare disease that has devastated the world [2]. WCKD believes that by studying the brain of the final candidate, they can unlock the cure and save humanity [2].
WICKED's name is changed to WCKD (World Catastrophe Killzone Department) in the films. "Wicked" means "bad" in formal English. James Dashner has stated that he wanted people to question things while reading the series, which explains the contradictory slogan "WICKED is good."
However, none of the Maze Runner movies ever explain why WCKD sent Teresa into the Maze. It seems improbable that she betrayed WCKD since she defends them fervently. In Maze Runner 4, the story could provide clarity about whether Teresa went into the Maze voluntarily and the purpose of her presence.
This virus was created by the Post-Flares Coalition as a means of population control. With most human society bound to fall in a state of disarray after the apocalyptic 2136 Solar Flares, the Coalition took it upon themselves to create the Flare Virus to painlessly kill the survivors.
Due to its current development status, Maze Runner 4's release date is unknown. Disney has never given the film a date on its schedule, even though the studio has releases mapped out through 2027. This might mean that the earliest Maze Runner 4 could be released is 2028.
Immunes, commonly referred to as "Munies", were the very small percentage of the remaining population of the world that are Immune to the Flare. It is revealed in The Death Cure that less than 1% of the remaining population are Immune to the Flare. The majority of the Gladers are Immunes, with few exceptions.
Thomas agreed to the mission, but later became disillusioned with WCKD after witnessing the suffering of his friends in the glade. He resolved to rescue them from the maze, which led to his proposal of being sent into the glade as part of a plan to gather information and eventually rescue his friends [2].
Plus, with Thomas unable to get the "cure" to Newt in time to save his life, Thomas doesn't have much personal incentive to help resolve the pandemic, since everyone else he cares about is immune.

They discovered that Gally was immune to the Flare virus and decided to bring him to the Last City to help nurse him back to full health from the Griever sting and being stabbed by Minho. The ultimate reveal that Gally did not die in The Maze Runner was briefly set up in the original movie.
The Grievers in the Maze Runner series are creatures that were engineered by the WICKED organization as part of their Maze Trials [1]. These trials involve selecting young individuals, known as Gladers, and placing them in an artificial environment constructed in the form of a vast maze [1].
Teresa finds the cure for The Flare. The Cure was the ultimate outcome of WICKED's goals. As the name suggests, it was what is hoped to be the treatment for the Flare virus.
Thomas feels heartsick and guilty because Ben is being killed for attempting to murder him. Ben's pleas become more desperate as the Maze door begins to close, and the Keepers shove him forward, disconnecting the pole from Ben at the last second and leaving him in the Maze.
The emotional intensity is definitely doubled up in the movie, establishing Teresa as a Thomas' one true love interest. Unlike Dashner's original story, the possibility of him dating Brenda is eliminated, and the audiences also get enough time to process the death of a character introduced right from the first movie.
WICKED caused/allowed so many people to die in the trials and kept manipulating everyone in the trials (and he didn't like how cranks were just dropped off in the scorch and essentially left to die because WICKED didn't send supplies to help them stay alive after dropping the cranks off).
In the Books, it was discovered that she is part of the group of Immunes. She became close to Thomas during The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure. It was confirmed that Brenda and Thomas began a relationship after the events of The Death Cure.

He is also one of the subjects who want their memories back (even though he already has his memories). This group escapes and eventually gets captured by the Right Arm in Denver. Of all the subjects that WICKED used in the Trials, Aris is one of the few to survive, along with Thomas, Minho, Frypan, and Gally.
It is eventually revealed that Thomas' blood contains a unique enzyme that can destroy the Flare virus [2]. In "The Death Cure" film, Teresa, one of the main characters, uses a small fragment of Thomas' blood and observes under a microscope that it snaps a dark-red vein with the virus in it, effectively killing it [2].
WICKED feels the only way to get the last information they need to create a cure is to dissect Thomas' brain while he's still alive. The procedure, of course, will kill him, but his sacrifice will save the human race. His agreement is no longer an option. They will do the operation whether he wants it or not.
Newt reveals that the reason WCKD put him in the Maze was because they wanted to tell the difference between immunes like Thomas and people like himself. Thomas tells Newt that he can cure him.
