Harry is attacked by strange and vicious underwater creatures. Diggory, the other Hogwarts competitor, is killed by Wormtail (Timothy Spall), a Voldemort supporter. Wormtail cuts off his own hand and lowers it into a cauldron where Voldemort, a shrivelled baby-like creature, is waiting to be trasformed into human form.

Harry is escorted by Moody to his office where he learns that Moody put his name into the Goblet and was guiding him to ensure the return of Voldemort. Many believed Harry put his own name in the Goblet due to his ego and desire for glory, straining his relationships and causing conflict at Hogwarts.
As he progresses in Hogwarts, he grows older year by year. In his first year, he is 11. In the second, he is 12. In the third, he is 13 and in the Goblet of Fire, he is 14.
so he can tend to get jealous, of Harry in particular, when someone is given the spotlight. We can see this in Goblet of Fire when he doesn't believe that Harry didn't put his name in for the tournament and thinks he just wanted all the glory.
