After NIcholai knocks Gordon off the outside of the International Space Station and reveals their mission to Nika, she decides to blow up the entire station. She's grieving the loss of Gordon and angry about the astronauts choosing to align themselves with countries.
It's a very brutal sequence, ending with the men stabbing each other to death. Thanks to this aggressive act, the blood in zero gravity does make I.S.S. feel like a horror. This debacle leaves Kira, Alexey and Christian scarred, realizing they need to put aside past differences and unite if they are to all get home.
