There were many rumors about why Catherine Hicks didn't reprise her role as Karen Barclay in the sequel with the popular being that she was pregnant by her husband Kevin Yagher who operated the animatronic Chucky doll, but the simple fact was that the director John Lafia wanted to take the story in a new direction.

In "Toy Story 2," sheriff Woody meets Jessie, who in the heartbreaking song "When She Loved Me," tells of being abandoned by Emily, who grew up and shifted her interests from horses and dolls to nail polish and boys.
Mrs. Davis (voiced by Laurie Metcalf) is Andy and Molly's single mother. Mrs. Davis is presented as a loving mother to Andy and Molly, but is a major though indirect threat to the toys. Mrs. Davis's actions regarding the toys sets the plot in motion in the first three films, though they are not malicious.
The Colonel's final words. The Colonel (2021 – 2022) was a Good Guy doll possessed by a piece of the original Chucky's soul. He believed himself to be the supreme Chucky and murdered many others, taking Andy Barclay as a hostage and becoming a cannibal by eating parts of him.
Eight years after Chucky's second demise, the Play Pals company resumes manufacturing Good Guy dolls and re-opens the abandoned factory. A splash of blood from Chucky's corpse is inadvertently mixed in with the molten plastic being used to produce the dolls, reviving him in an updated body.
What happened to Andy at the end of Child's Play 3?
Andy struggles to convince Tyler that Chucky is evil, but eventually, he is able to defeat Chucky once again, this time by pushing him into a giant fan. Andy ends the movie by surrendering himself to police custody for questioning.
Trivia. In the Child's Play comic series, Karen is sent to a state hospital because the police did not believe her story of Chucky and Mike and Jack refused to back her up. After supposedly killing the doll once again, she is arrested and put on trial for murdering her psychiatrist, which in reality was Chucky's doing.
Once inside, Kristen attempts to shoot Chucky, but is instead shot in the leg by the doll. After Andy applies a tourniquet to her leg, Kristen gives him her gun to kill Chucky. Andy leaves her behind, and finally manages to defeat Chucky. Afterwards, the medics arrive and treat Kristen her gunshot wound.
