A temporary alliance with Maul would have pushed Ahsoka closer to the dark side, but they would eventually clash due to their differing goals. Without Ahsoka's intervention, Thrawn's return would have been swift, resulting in his Empire taking over the galaxy before the rise of the First Order.
During the battle, Maul offers Ahsoka a choice. He asks her to join him to destroy the Sith. Ahsoka eventually refuses to join him, as Maul's plan involves killing Anakin, which she can't bring herself to do.
Ahsoka's lightsaber form and double blades gave her an edge against Maul, allowing her to defeat him in battle. Qui-Gon failed to defeat Maul because he focused on defense rather than offense, while Ahsoka's aggressive form countered Maul's chaotic style.
The two meet again in Rebels when they are older, Ahsoka does not trust Maul but works with him to open the Sith Holocron to help defeat the Empire. However his true intentions were revealed to take Ezra as his apprentice and blinded Kanen, Ezra's Master.
In the series, Maul and Ahsoka did not meet until the Siege of Mandalore. For reasons unknown, Maul learned her name was Ahsoka Tano but he did not know anything else about her. Ahsoka, meanwhile, was aware of Anakin and Obi-Wan's past encounters, and did not hesitate to show her hatred towards Maul.

Why didn t Ahsoka trust Maul?
Ahsoka didn't join Maul because he didn't provide more valuable information about Sidious. She thought it was absurd that Sidious could have been grooming Anakin as his next apprentice, but if Maul had revealed that Palpatine was the Sith Lord, then the idea would have had merit.
Darth Maul and Qui-Gon Jinn's duel on Tatooine in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace revealed the Sith Order's survival to the Jedi after 1,000 years of secrecy, with Jinn somehow concluding that Maul was a Sith Lord.
Maul had killed Qui-Gon and numerous other Jedi and started a huge Mandalorian conflict that left thousands dead. If he publicly announced that Palpatine was an evil Sith Lord, there would be few (if any) who would take him seriously.
Tales of the Jedi raises an interesting question about Darth Vader's morality and motivations during the rise of the Empire, suggesting he knew of Ahsoka Tano's survival after Order 66 but kept it hidden from the Empire.
It's already been shown in the source material… more than once… that Darth Maul is not on Darth Sidious's level. Every time he dueled Sidious as his apprentice (in Legends) he got easily defeated.
The duel. Darth Vader defeats Darth Maul. The two Sith Lords engaged in a lightsaber duel, going through the volcano and onto a bridge situated over a river of lava, which collapsed, though they both survived and continued their battle.
According to Wookiepedia, the minimum count needed for a person to become a Jedi was 7,000, with an average count for a Jedi of 10,000. Combat-wise, Ahsoka Tano is definitely at par with Obi-Wan Kenobi during his prime years, if not better: She is definitely above average in terms of skills and wisdom among the Jedi.
Anakin Skywalker's Jedi master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, was a master of defensive lightsaber combat and a skillful Force wielder. On Mustafar, his skill proved an equal match for Anakin's raw power in their fateful duel. However, Ahsoka Tano at the peak of her abilities might prove more than a match for Obi-Wan.
By the time of Episode 3; Anakin is in his prime, and already one of the Jedi Order's most powerful “masters” (although technically still a knight), just behind Obi-Wan, Windu, and Yoda. Maul wouldn't stand a chance. Anakin stomps.
She was my friend. Ahsoka and Padmé Amidala. Ahsoka and Padmé greatly respected and admired each other. It was Padmé who taught Ahsoka that politics, as well as other things, aren't as black and white as she once thought.
In his story, Maul poses as a member of a criminal cartel to kill a Force-sensitive thief for Darth Sidious, and experiences a vision of an alternate life as a peace-keeping Jedi, which he denies, much to Sidious' content. The story takes place shortly before The Phantom Menace.
While the Star Wars canon doesn't explicitly confirm his regret, the intricacies of his relationship with Ahsoka and the remnants of his former identity could have stirred some degree of internal turmoil.
Anakin and Ahsoka arrived to help, and they ran into each other. This was when she finally started having feelings for him. However, he had mostly moved on at that point and was more devoted to avenging his mother than romance with a Jedi.
Why did Maul want Ahsoka to become his apprentice? He didn't though…. Maul simply just wanted Ahsoka to join forces with him so that the two could defeat the real enemy: Darth Sidious.
Sidious revealed to Maul that he did not intend to kill his former apprentice, as he still had use for Maul; it was Sidious' hope that Maul would lead the Sith to Mother Talzin, Maul's mother and the leader of the Nightsisters, so she could be eliminated as a potential threat to the eventual Sith rule of the galaxy.
In the now-abandoned Legends continuity, his birth name appeared to be Maul, with the title of "Darth" simply added to it when he was taken on as an apprentice by Darth Sidious.
And while his warnings don't work, at the very least, it shows that Maul became aware of Anakin and what he would soon become. With the rise of the Empire, it's likely Maul caught on to Vader's existence pretty quickly.
Following Qui-Gon's death by Maul's hand on Naboo, Dooku visited Palpatine in distress about his apprentice's death, hoping to have one day made Jinn an ally while also directly stating he knew of Maul's existence.
