Are all the films in 3D? 4DX films will not necessarily be presented in 3D. If the particular film is also presented with 3D, glasses will be required. 3D glasses are available to purchase in cinema for an additional $1.00, and are yours to keep and reuse on future visits.
The 4DX experience is not suitable for all cinemagoers*, but for those who are able to attend a screening and want to get fully immersed in another world I think it's worth the extra cash, especially if it's a film you've been eager to see.
RealD is the newer (and better) 3D technology, but the size and sound of an IMAX theater seems to be the best way to get immersed in the movie, even if the 3D effect is not as good.

IMAX 3D and 4DX 3D, both are different movie viewing format. IMAX 3D is famed for it's large screen and Crystal clear video and sharp audio quality. While 4DX is known for motion picture with environmental effects such as seat motion, wind, rain, lights, and scents along with the standard video and audio.
What is the difference between IMAX 3D and 3D ScreenX?
For those that don't know, ScreenX is a format that offers additional images down the side walls of the auditorium (yes, really), expanding the image to the sides, rather than above and below that image as IMAX does.
RealD 3D cinema technology is a polarized 3D system that uses circularly polarized light to produce stereoscopic image projection. The advantage of circular polarization over linear polarization is that viewers are able to tilt their head and look about the theater naturally without seeing double or darkened images.

The motion seats of the 4DX system are programmed to move according to a predetermined sequence during movie screening. As a result, motion seats can cause the following problems: your personal effects (e.g. popcorn, beverages etc.) may be dropped or spilt.
I have tickets to see a 4dx movie in a few weeks, but I just read that the seats have a recommended 240lb weight limit. I'm about 275, so obviously more than that. It's not exactly an intense movie (it's a concert) so I can't imagine there's a ton of movement which is what I would think the weight limit is for.
There's no bad seat in a 4DX auditorium as they all move along with the action. That being said, you'll be more engulfed by the fog and the bubbles closer to the front as that's where the machines are located, and you'll get a fuller experience of the rain right in the centre of the auditorium.
Sit comfortably in your numbered seat and keep your feet on the footrests. The space in front of your seat must be kept clear. Avoid delicate clothing or other items that may be adversely affected by the 4DX effects. Be sure to protect your clothing from wind, water, air bubbles, and strong odors.
